Scott Jennings put CNN’s NewsNight panel on the spot with a plain question about whether anyone at the table would actually support building even one new oil refinery to help expand America’s diesel supply.
And they didn't know what to say.
Heck, Abby Phillip called it a 'silly argument.'
If they can't blame Trump then they don't want to talk about gas prices.
Phillip went so far as to wave the idea off as beside the point, prompting Jennings to note that Democrats have spent years opposing domestic energy production and are now asking voters to trust them on pump prices anyway.
She never learns, which honestly makes for some entertaining television ... at her expense, of course.

the Phillips 66 refinery in Wilmington closed in December 2025.
• The Valero refinery in Benicia closed April 2026.
These closures were predicted to raise prices by up to $1.21 per gallon by August 2026.
Wait, so it's not just Trump's fault? NO WAY.
