Scott Jennings Turns Abby Phillip Into a Sputtering Mess in Heated Debate on Trump's Tariffs (Watch)

CNN’s Abby Phillip and her usual NewsNight chorus spent Wednesday night treating tariffs like the only tax that ever lands on regular people, until Scott Jennings asked the question they clearly did not want on camera. If import duties get passed through to shoppers, he pressed, where exactly do they think corporate income taxes go? The same place. 

So if both are such a burden, why not just zero the whole thing out? 

The table’s instant “hold on, no no no” was less a rebuttal than a reflex: some taxes are unforgivable when Trump uses them, and others are just the price of doing business when Democrats want them raised.

Democrats are OK with THEIR preferred taxes making things more expensive for Americans but not Trump's efforts to actually make countries pay their fair share.
