Democrats are only happy if and when Americans are struggling.
When things are good, they've got nothing to run on. We saw that firsthand in Virginia when Democrats spent their entire campaigns shrieking about Trump while ignoring everything that Republicans had gotten done in a sort of Rensaissance. They knew they couldn't run on making things worse (which is all they really know how to do), so they screeched about Trump. And sadly, too many morons in Virginia believed it.
