One thing I've noticed most of all, covering the mainstream media now for almost a decade (I know, it doesn't seem possible, but here we are), is that when they get something wrong, they REALLY get it wrong, and it usually goes viral. Then, when they're called out and proven wrong, they make a quiet correction and hardly anyone sees it. This, of course, is what drives the narrative. The second thing I've noticed is that this 'getting it wrong and quietly correcting it later' thing only ever really goes one way.
Against the Right.
You don't see the mainstream media make crazy claims about the Left and then quietly correct them. No no. I suppose for that to happen, they would first have to cover the Left in an honest way, and c'mon, we know they're not going to do that. Heck, they'd rather go out of business than be unbiased.
We're seeing that happen in real-time, even with PBS and NPR.
For example, Mehdi Hasan said something foolish here, so stupid in fact that Mark Hemingway dropped the word, 'freaking' in his post.
Yeah.
Trump's freaking *tax returns* were leaked. New York combed his real estate loan docs to invent a charge against him.

If there was document even intimating Trump had committed a crime with Jeffrey Epstein, it would have been splashed all over the NYT long ago. https://t.co/5abPq26xLK
I have looked everywhere for the deleted post, and sadly, it seems that no one took a screenshot (if you did, please send it my way!).
That being said, when I went to look for his explanation for deleting the post, I found many posts from him about the numerous posts he had deleted that most likely went unnoticed.
Like when he joked about a plane crashing:
I deleted this sarcastic quote-tweet because MAGA and Islamophobic folks are clipping it out of context and trying to ridiculously suggest I’m inciting violence. I was obviously mocking the MAGA slogan ‘Make America… Again’ slogan and highlighting the shocking number of plane… pic.twitter.com/edvFRq66ZH

Ok I give up. Having been dunked on all weekend for using a badly-told personal anecdote to try & make a point about how widespread misinformation about the economy is right now, which made me come across to some as out-of-touch & insensitive, I deleted the tweet thread. My bad.

This site is not a great place to be, in an inflamed and partisan moment like this.

I am trying not to contribute to that.
So I deleted a couple of tweets from yesterday slamming a senator & a hedge fund manager, both of whom made deeply disturbing remarks. But still.
Here's the one I was looking for:
I misread someone else’s badly-worded summary of a news story. The point still stands. Trump’s name was redacted from the Epstein files which is pretty telling but he wasn’t obviously in all 100,000 Epstein-related documents. I deleted the earlier tweet. Thanks Josh for clarity. https://t.co/fuPmaMuEzK

Where he blamed someone ELSE for his being an a-hole.
Mehdi is just one example of a grossly partisan, activist media ... in general, they all suck.
But you knew that.
