When I first started writing for Twitchy long, long, LONG ago now (almost 10 years!) Drudge Report was still a big deal and something conservatives relied on for news, especially when it was already obvious the mainstream media was useless. And then something happened along the way after Trump was elected: Drudge sort of lost it, and the rumors started that he had sold his site which was easy to believe because it became a rambling mess of anti-Trump propaganda.
Honestly, when I went to search for any source showing he sold his site, all I could find were stories about how he sold his house for far less than he paid for it.
Hrm.
Anyway, as I was saying, Drudge didn't seem like Drudge anymore and honestly, he might as well have joined up with the mainstream media because that's what it looked like.
Mark Levin's post, although it appears innocent enough, is clearly a dig at Drudge.

Report in its heyday used to be THE place to go for breaking counter-institutional news, sort of the @X of its day. Then about a decade ago, it abruptly joined the MSM crowd. Lots of speculation why, but no clear answers. Fell off a cliff.

Drudge used to be the first place I'd hit every morning on the internet and the check it throughout the day. Now I very occasionally pop on just to see the train wreck it has become.
