Things must be really bad for Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan because he's had to call in backup.

The Michigan Senate hopeful announced that Barack Obama will join him on the trail in Detroit on October 24, and he sold the visit like a coronation.

Obama. Yay. He has become the male version of political herpes: it never goes away. Hillary Clinton is the female type.

Detroit is not a victory lap. It is the city where a Democrat who is soft with black voters goes to borrow someone else’s credibility.

Obama fills a room. El-Sayed still has to explain why he needs a former president to do it.
