This is the best thread you’ll read today…
Alex Konrad, a reporter for Forbes, post some hilarious text messages from his grandma who became freaked out after receiving a GIF of Steve Harvey clapping. Apparently, she didn’t know what a GIF was and everytime she opened her texts she saw him clapping again and this freaked her out.
Check out the exchange below which eventually sent her to the Verizon store for tech support:
My aunt sent a gif of Steve Harvey clapping to the whole fam and my grandma went to the Verizon store to make it stop pic.twitter.com/AwYf9BTrlg

"It's 5:30 pm and he's STILL clapping"
I would give any amount of money to have seen the face of the Verizon staffer my grandma asked to stop the gif

My cousin reminded me Grammy has a landline so we just spoke:
1) She says the Verizon employee's also told her a gif "goes around and around"
2) She now understands what a gif is and how to delete a text
2) She doesn't really get Twitter but is PUMPED @chrislhayes saw this ?— Alex Konrad (@alexrkonrad) July 11, 2018
@IAmSteveHarvey happy to connect you to Grammy if you wanna talk this out
