As the media continues to look into Ben Carson’s past, here’s a great reminder that there are always different rules for Republicans. Remember that time then candidate Obama in 2007 lied about how the first march in Selma, Ala. was somehow responsible for his birth?
From Michelle Malkin on the 50th anniversary of the Selma march:
That time Obama lied & said 1965 Selma march inspired his parents to conceive him…even though he was born in 1961. http://t.co/RTgqRfwN9Z

That link above is to something Michelle wrote in 2007 on how Obama’s gaffes weren’t being reported by the media. An excerpt:
*Obama has as much trouble with numbers as he has with maps. Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement:
“There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.”
Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.
Whoops.
We posted on it back in March of this year as well:
Flashback: In 2007 speech, Obama credited 1965 Selma march for inspiring his birth — in 1961 http://t.co/CWZByCXsFD

But Obama didn’t lie or embellish, mind you. According to Obama hack Bill Burton, he was only “speaking metaphorically about the civil rights movement as a whole.”
Maybe GOP candidates should use that metaphorically line from now on?
