Dear Hollywood: Stop Imagining Fake, Racist Scenarios and Hurting Your Own Feelings

It's become almost cliché to say that most of Hollywood lives in a bubble, where the only things that matter are unadulterated narcissism and fake narratives. It even makes a kind of bizarro sense that Tinseltown thespians are this way. After all, their entire professional lives are centered around reading lines that other people write for them that involve entirely fictional scenarios.

So, I really cannot act surprised when the majority of them can't really think for themselves and wholeheartedly believe fantasies that have no bearing on reality. Just look at how many actors and actresses have 'trans children,' even though there is no such thing as that.

As with the trans social contagion, however, there is a real danger to the imaginary world these performers inhabit. That danger comes when they try to pretend that their make-believe delusions ARE the real world.

There is nothing more dangerous than the fever dream that actress Jenifer Lewis posted on TikTok recently. Her deranged monologue made it to X today, and what's scarier than her saying what she did is the dreaded realization that she actually believes this to be true. Watch:

Before I get started, let's take a quick moment to ponder the definition of the word 'star' here.

If you have never heard of Jenifer Lewis, you are not alone. I would venture to say that 90 percent of America never has. Not that she hasn't had a solid career. She's been a working actress since the late 1980s, and good for her. Many people might recognize her from the television show Black-ish or from her voiceover roles in the Cars franchise.

But a 'star'? Not exactly.

More important than Lewis's prominence in Hollywood (or lack thereof), however, is the death she is talking about in her video. Lewis recorded this clip yesterday after the discovery of the body of 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells, a black student who took a boat trip to celebrate the 4th of July with friends (most of whom were white) on Horn Island, off the coast of Mississippi.

According to investigators, at some point over the weekend, Wells declined to return to the boat with his friends, saying he wanted to stay on the island longer and would return to the boat later. When he didn't return, a missing persons report was filed, and Wells' body was discovered on Horn Island by a Park Ranger on Monday, July 6.

The police have not released a cause or manner of death, though they suspect that Wells drowned. The president of the NAACP has warned against anyone jumping to conclusions. However, before even a full day had passed, Wells' family had already hired notorious race hustler Ben Crump. And then, on Wednesday, Lewis took to TikTok to declare that people were killing black children.

So much for an independent police investigation. That's over, now that Crump and Lewis have decided, without a shred of evidence, that Wells' tragic death could not have been an accident, but must have been a hate crime.

What is even worse is that Lewis clearly does not care about Wells at all, judging by her fake tears and audition-quality histrionics in the video. She is trying to create a narrative.

A narrative that flies in the face of all objective evidence.

The statistics do not lie.

Of course, not. Calling out that never-ending crime wave would entail calling for accountability within the community she claims to represent.

She wouldn't dare ever do that.

In the ultimate tragic irony, Lewis herself boasts about and is proud of killing unborn black children.

Even her own black children.

If your reaction to killing your own children is, 'Yeah, b*tch, it happened,' then I'm sorry for you.

But I am also not going to shed tears with you when you claim to care about black youth.

You don't. And you don't care about this black student in Mississippi, either.

You care about yourself. And no one else.

At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, I'll just call that the least surprising diagnosis in history.

As I noted above, I don't even really care that they do.

Let them.

But Lewis is trying to impose her racist universe on this real one. And that, I will not abide.

It is useless to show these statistics to someone like Lewis or Ben Crump. They don't care.

Despite their boundless professional success in this 'racist' country, they are committed to the lie that black children are being slaughtered, and they are so willfully blind that they will never see that the only place that is happening is in black communities and at abortion factories.

But the worst part about all of this is that Lewis entirely ignores the young man she is purportedly recording her video to memorialize. I don't know if Wells was killed or drowned by accident, and neither does she. If not for a hashtag on her TikTok video, no one would even know she was talking about Wells.

And, make no mistake. Whatever the cause, his death IS a tragedy. By all accounts, he was a young man with a promising future. He was a student and football player at Southwest Mississippi Community College. And his life ended far too soon.

Did you get any of that from Lewis's video? Absolutely not. Because he was the last thing on her mind when she made it. The only thing she was thinking of, other than herself, was inciting racial division, despite having no cause to do so.

For me, I will pray for Nathan Xavier Wells and his family, and for those who loved him, which seemed to include a solid group of friends who did not care about the color of his skin.

What a pity that Jenifer Lewis can't say or do the same.
