When Elon Musk declared the death of the legacy media on November 6, 2024, we all knew it was a long time coming. The media's years of openly lying to and gaslighting its viewers and readers couldn't have ended any other way.
But the media's self-inflicted demise wasn't due only to their sins of commission; they also committed suicide by turning a blind eye to some of the biggest news stories of the day.
We need look no further than Portland, Oregon, to see -- or not see, I suppose -- the legacy media's sins of omission.
When President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ordered the National Guard into Portland to quell the attacks from Antifa on federal ICE agents (not to mention terrorizing everyday citizens), the left immediately went into apoplectic fits of rage. Many Democrats, including Senator Ron Wyden, Governor Tina Kotek, and Rep. Maxine Dexter, denounced this new form of 'fascism' while also posting carefully curated images of Portland as an idyllic paradise of rainbows and unicorn farts.
These claims were quickly debunked by the camera lenses of reality from independent journalists.

Yesterday and last night, even more independent journalists like Katie Daviscourt, C.K. Boufferache, and Oliya Scootercaster posted what Portland is like at night, why federal troops are needed, and how the politicians are lying about the city.

Hmm, despite Kotek's and Wyden's claims, it didn't appear that local authorities had any control of the city whatsoever.

To the chagrin of Democrats and their false narrative, once federal agents were on the scene, THEN Portland Police also began enforcing the law.

It sure looks like the police are happy that troops are there to help them do their jobs, no matter what Democrat politicians say.
I post all of these videos (and there are far more if you follow the X accounts of the reporters above) not only to show that Democrats are lying to America about Portland, but also to ask a simple question.
Where is CNN?
Pundits on the network have been crying about Portland incessantly since Hegseth issued his order, but where are their armies of journalists and camera crews with their own boots on the ground? Why aren't they capturing film showing why the National Guard is 'not needed' in the city?
Come to think of it, where are ABC, CBS, and NBC?
(I won't ask where MSNBC is because it's highly likely that many of their 'journalists' are participating in the masked and violent Antifa mobs.)
During the 'Summer of Love,' those networks were everywhere that a riot was happening in honor of St. George Floyd. Granted, they infamously and hilariously lied about those riots, telling us that we were witnessing 'mostly peaceful protests' as the flames raged in the background. But at least they bothered to show up.
So, why aren't they in Portland?
Are they concerned about their crews' safety? They should be. Daviscourt had to bring her own security with her to the streets of Portland ... and Antifa tried to assault him, too.

Antifa also tried to assault Bouferrache until a brave man with a MAGA hat and an American flag showed up to defend her.

That man is a hero. And CNN won't ever even bother to learn his name, let alone ask him to appear on their network to tell his story.
Of course, the legacy media can't admit that they have safety concerns. That would prove the President right. And they can't have that.
Instead, they will turn their cameras off, lecture us and scream at the President from their safe, protected studios, and futilely hope that we will believe them and not our own eyes and ears.
The scary part is that until very recently, the media was able to control the narrative in this manner.
It was not that long ago that social media companies were banning independent journalists left and right (often at the behest of the government) for simply telling the truth.
But that house of cards was never going to hold up in the Internet age. It began to crumble with the rise of alternative media platforms like Rumble and Substack. Musk's buying Twitter (now X) was a fatal blow. X was not only a huge social media platform, much bigger than the upstarts, but it also quickly became the most popular and widely used news platform in the world.
And when Trump won the 2024 election, that truly was the end.
As actual investigative journalists in Portland showed us, the legacy media can no longer declare -- or even pretend -- that a story doesn't exist by ignoring it.
Their sins of omission simply do not work anymore.
But it sure is funny to watch them try.
