Would the word 'uncorroborated' be removed from this headline if 50 ex-intel officials confirmed it?

Meme

There's a Democrat in the White House now which means the media "rules" have done a one-eighty.

For example, once-celebrated whistleblowers are now viewed with skepticism and are reported as "so-called whistleblowers" or "people Republicans describe as whistleblowers."

Some media outlets don't even cover their claims while those same "journalists" would have been leading breathless 24/7 coverage if the same claims were being made about a Republican president, especially Trump.

Politico provided a good example this week of how those who do cover the IRS whistleblower story are trying to downplay it at the same time:

"Republicans release an uncorroborated FBI record at the heart of a Biden bribery allegation."

Remember when the word "uncorroborated" wasn't deemed a necessity?

That got me thinking: Perhaps if over 50 former intelligence officials told Politico the IRS whistleblower claims had all the earmarkings of being true the media could drop the word "uncorroborated" like this did with this story (that remains free from an update reminding everybody it turned out not to be true):

Considering who the media (Politico in this example) considers worthy of being able to corroborate a story, their use of "uncorroborated" in the IRS whistleblower story makes me even more likely to believe the whistleblowers' claims.

Margot Cleveland has another good point:

Yep, though Politico and the rest of the MSM (and Biden WH) are hoping "uncorroborated" is enough to make everybody drop it and move on.

In fairness to Politico, though, their headline was at least several notches better than the Associated Press' offering:

"Unverified claims about Hunter Biden's work."

They make it sound like Hunter has been accused of taking a dollar out of petty cash at Burisma.

Whether it's reported as "uncorroborated" or "unverified," we can count on the lib media to make NO effort to verify or corroborate the allegations.
