Dems will appreciate the Associated Press for still pushing their 'Don't Say Gay' spin

There’s evidence of media bias everywhere, but in this particular case I’d like to focus on a game the press plays with the names of legislation/laws in their reporting about Republican initiatives:

The biggest example of that lately has been Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law last year. The Left dubbed it the “Don’t Say Gay” law and the media dutifully fell in line. The Associated Press is still playing that game:

The Democrats will award the AP ten social credit points for that.

The AP used “Don’t Say Gay” in the headline and at least twice in the story:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will soon take control of Walt Disney World’s self-governing district after Senate Republicans approved a bill Friday punishing the company over its opposition to the law critics call “Don’t Say Gay.”

The legislation, which now awaits the governor’s signature, would require DeSantis to appoint a five-member board to oversee the government services the district provides in the company’s sprawling properties in Florida.
[…]
The Disney district takeover was initiated last year when Disney publicly opposed “Don’t Say Gay,” which bars instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade and lessons deemed not age-appropriate.

I couldn’t find the actual name of the law anywhere in the entire story.

Have you ever noticed that game is never played the other way around? When the Associated Press does stories about Biden going around the country touting the Inflation Reduction Act, that’s what they’ll call it — the AP story won’t read “Biden’s going around the country promoting the initiative critics call an ‘inflation-worsening wasteful spending” bill.

No, you will not. And the media wonders why so many people think they’re not objective.

The desired Democrat spin is usually so baked into the MSM’s coverage that they might not even any longer realize they’re doing it.
