As Twitchy reported, last Wednesday the Washington Post published a piece on the troops who survived the “Kabul airport disaster” a year ago. (It was a terrorist attack … Presiden Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan was a disaster.) It was August 26, 2021, when Pentagon spokesman John Kirby confirmed there’d been a “complex” suicide attack at the airport. That would make Monday the one-year anniversary of the death of 13 U.S. service members in that suicide attack. So naturally, reporters asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre what Biden would be doing to mark the one-year anniversary of the attack. Jean-Pierre noted that Biden had issued a statement Friday when no one was paying attention.
Reporter asks how Biden intends to mark the anniversary of the Afghanistan withdrawal: “Does he plan to speak to the American people? Does he plan to honor the lives of the 13 servicemembers?”
KJP: “The president released a statement…”

Indeed he did, and he turned that statement into a tweet Monday:

It’s nice they got a tweet.
MRC Study: Since Biden's disastrous withdrawal of Afghanistan one year ago, the media's coverage has dropped to almost nothing.
In the mere seconds they did provide coverage, the words "Joe Biden" were nowhere to be found. https://t.co/Vl61QX3Jh4

The Afghanistan withdrawal was such a disaster that not even the mainstream media could spin it.
A statement, what an honor

Was the statement about his son?

Bull 💩. The only loss he feels deeply about is Beau & nothing more. Trot him back to the basement & lock the door behind him.

They didn't care then, why would they care a year later… 🤷♂️

Wow! Was it a "strongly worded" statement? I bet the families of the 13 dead service members feel so much better; that their lost loved ones were so honored.

I am a Canadian Afghanistan war veteran & I am utterly disgusted how both of our "leaders" (Biden/Trudeau) handled the withdrawal. Total incompetence that directly led to the deaths of 13 of my brothers/sisters (different countries, but still brothers/sisters).

It’s no secret that Biden would want to keep the whole Afghanistan withdrawal out of the news cycle, seeing as that’s when his approval rating began to tank, and right now he’s enjoying a string of wins like the Inflation Reduction Act and student loan cancellation.
