They’re called ‘Fake News’ for a reason. It's a mystery how anyone still sees legacy media outlets as legitimate news organizations. On Wednesday, ABC ‘News’ proved why it doesn’t deserve anyone’s trust. The ‘news’ outlet posted a story on X that blamed a Tesla on Autopilot for the death of the vehicle’s passenger. Of course that was a lie.
After the false story received a Community Note, ABC ‘News’ deleted the post with no apology, retraction, or correction on X. (READ)
BREAKING: ABC just DELETED their tweet after they were ratioed into oblivion, community noted and called out by @elonmusk directly for trying to deceive the public about a drunk driver who crashed her Tesla

This is how it’s done!
They aren’t used to accountability. The lying… pic.twitter.com/S2erwmUnQZ

This should get a news outlet sued into oblivion.

They had to know what they were doing and went with it anyway. I cannot believe this was a mistake, and no rational person would actually believe the news outlet was just mistaken.
Why are you misleading the public? pic.twitter.com/Ieb2YTQL0z
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 10, 2026
Because misleading the public is what ‘news’ agencies do.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is no stranger to legacy media lies directed at him. He called out ABC 'News.’
Did the Tesla crash by itself or did the driver crash the car? Obviously it was the latter but ABC News is dedicated as usual to lying for clicks and narrative promotion purposes. https://t.co/pblyGd14bm

You would think by now that these activists masquerading as journalists - would learn that they need to more impartial. But instead, they double down of their far left propaganda to deceive their viewers. It’s like a sickness.
— Knott Chu (@KnottChu) September 10, 2026
@ABC if you had standards you would retract it by owning up to the mistake not just deleting it.
— J Lory (@J__Lory) September 10, 2026
Lucky for you @ABC the internet lives forever and this is just another example of MSM bias laid to bare for the world to see. 👏
Deleting is one thing, but what happened to statements and retractions?
— MonsoonBloom (@ann_pozzi49743) September 10, 2026
They're only deleting this because they smell the lawsuit.
— 🇺🇸Aufs🇯🇵 (@AufsVires) September 10, 2026
Deleting the post doesn’t protect them from a lawsuit.
Posters say that ABC ‘News’ is intentionally targeting Elon Musk by mentioning crash-involved Tesla vehicles in headlines.
Since when do they put the make of the car in the headline?
— Gregory Jensen (@Hippie_0407) September 10, 2026
You ever notice if the legacy media even covers a car accident, they rarely if ever mention the make/model of the car. Unless it’s a .@Tesla. If it’s a Tesla that’s the headline. It’s like they’re trying to implant a correlation between accidents & Teslas in the public’s mind. 🤔

The driver in a deadly Tesla crash in Texas pressed the accelerator to 100% before colliding into a house, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. https://t.co/eV0xYd1tzr

The ABC ‘News’ website shows that the outlet has a pattern of mentioning Tesla in the headlines of crash-related stories.
Posters suggest ways of keeping ‘news’ outlets honest on X.
@elonmusk should force "Journalists" to not be able to delete posts and instead have to write formal corrections.
— Donald Morgan Jr. (@donaldmorganjr) September 10, 2026
If a post gets a community note, it shouldn't be able to be deleted.
— Edmond (@BikesAndVidya) September 10, 2026
That’s the way these should be handled. All ‘news’ organizations should also have a button on their X pages that links to all stories with Community Notes. Users on X need a quick way of determining the legitimacy of so-called news agencies.
Editor's Note: The mainstream media continues to gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, and conservatives.
