As Twitchy has been reporting, as Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on alleged collusion between the Donald Trump campaign and Russia comes closer to being released, a lot of people who were hot to remove the president from office seem to be pouring cold water on just what the report might contain.
Resistance leader Rep. Adam Schiff, in particular, has been coy about the report recently, suggesting in February that perhaps Mueller’s investigation hadn’t been thorough enough, refusing to tell CNN whether he’d accept the findings in Mueller’s report if it did not find evidence of collusion, and then telling “Meet the Press” that Mueller was under “time pressure” to wrap up his investigation and thus didn’t subpoena Trump.
And then there was Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing in a Washington Post Magazine profile last week that she was opposed to impeaching Trump, saying, “He’s just not worth it.”
The Resistance is still hungering for the report, to the point where Newsweek reported elderly Americans feared they’d die before getting to read it. But according to a new CNN poll, appetite for impeaching President Trump is at an all-time low.
