We’ve already learned that one self-described “typical liberal Berkeley professor” has offered her students an extension on their essay if they were “teargassed, batoned or shot w/rubber bullets” during the previous night’s protests, looting and vandalism that left shattered glass on the sidewalks and burning trash bins in the streets.
Tuesday night, at least one protester representing the “Oakland/Berkeley Emergency Response Network to Fight for Justice for Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and All Victims of Racist Police Oppression!” demanded that UC Berkeley’s final exam period be extended to accommodate their demonstrations.

Ironically, Tanya is a member of the campus group “By Any Means Necessary” — unless those means require choosing between marching in the streets and taking final exams when scheduled.
