Matthew Foldi looks at the media's effort to blame a 'Republican group' for the Lincoln Project's tiki-torch stunt

As Twitchy reported Friday, a small group of “Glenn Youngkin supporters” showed up at a campaign event in Charlottesville (in sunglasses, in the rain) to pose with tiki-torches while standing in line in front of Youngkin’s campaign bus. It was obviously fake, and the Lincoln Project has taken “credit” for the stunt.

As Twitchy reported earlier, people are taking issue with Reuters World’s tweet saying the stunt was the effort of a group of anti-Trump Republicans, aka the Lincoln Project. The Washington Free Beacon’s Matthew Foldi has a great thread exposing the effort to pin the stunt on a “Republican” group.

Lauren Windsor is executive director of American Family Voices — hardly a Republican organization.

What a shock! They were an anti-Trump group, but after Biden won, they still had to keep the money coming in somehow, so they’ve been campaigning for Democrats ever since. But yeah, they’re a “Republican” group.
