Here’s some news from Tuesday we didn’t want to let slip by. You probably first saw Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel on stage during CNN’s show trial just one week after the Parkland mass shooting and before the public had learned anything about how, say, the school resource officer stood around and did nothing, Broward deputies took cover behind their cars and did nothing, until police from Coral Springs finally rushed past them and into the school building to start rescue efforts.
And of course, during that show trial, Israel — who knew all of this — tried to lay the blame on Dana Loesch and the NRA.
The case against the Broward Sheriff’s Department and its handling of the situation was massive, and as soon as Ron DeSantis took office as Florida governor in January, he issued an executive order suspending Israel — a move that Israel, of course, blamed on the NRA, which he claimed “controls the governor’s actions.”
Israel refused to bow out quietly, but on Tuesday, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that Gov. DeSantis was fully within his authority to suspend Israel.

Among those happy to hear the news is Andrew Pollack, who lost his daughter Meadow in the shooting.
And that’s a wrap. Sheriff Israel’s attempt to get his job back was REJECTED by the Florida Supreme Court.
Go find a job somewhere people are okay with incompetent politicians #fixit https://t.co/BdP69BvN4P

I hear CNN is hiring…anybody…no skill required..
— Steven (@orkinbugman) April 24, 2019
@CNN will most certainly hire him as a legal analyst…

Wonderful! He should never be allowed in any authority position ever again! He ordered officers to stand down while people were getting killed
— Jennifer Pruitt (@jmpnc7) April 24, 2019
I want to know why he is not being prosecuted for dereliction of duty in telling his officers to stand down while innocent kids were being murdered. He should lose any pension he may have and should never be allowed to hold position of even a security guard ever again.

Can't blame the Sheriff for thinking he should get his job back. Leftists on government payrolls typically think incompetence is grounds for a promotion and raise.

There is justice sometimes.

He will be judged by the only one who can pass judgement and that can't come soon enough

Hey CNN, we keep asking but we never hear back … when are you going to have that follow-up town hall knowing all that we do now? We hear Israel has time on his hands, and we’re sure Loesch would like to ask some follow-up questions.
