Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called the Democrats’ bluff Tuesday by calling a vote on the Green New Deal resolution, which all the Democratic candidates for president in 2020 raced to co-sponsor when it was introduced.

You can’t see it in the photo, but Jay Inslee and Bernie Sanders also posted tweets supporting the Green New Deal at the same time as Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Kamala Harris. Democrats couldn’t wait to put their names on that mess.
But now Harris has issued a statement calling the vote a political stunt and shifting the blame to Republican climate change deniers.
.@SenKamalaHarris on the Green New Deal: “Political stunts won’t get us anywhere. Combatting this crisis first requires the Republican majority to stop denying science and finally admit that climate change is real and humans are the dominant cause." pic.twitter.com/OG81B2p2kb

It’s an existential threat that requires bold action exactly like that outlined in the Green New Deal resolution. And a vast majority of Senate Democrats voted “Present.” Because it was a political stunt, duh.
Political stunts **like abstaining on a resolution you claim to support**. https://t.co/inSAu0mrAB

Given she voted present on her own legislation, she needs to STFU with the “stunt” talk

We only have TWELVE YEARS, Senator Harris!

Recommended
1. Climate change is real
2. Humans are the dominant cause
3. Propose Green New Deal to solve 1 & 2
4. Vote on Green New Deal is… a political stunt?Either 1 and 2 are true, or 3 is the political stunt.
Though I'm sure the Democrat base won't be able to follow that logic.

"We won't propose any solutions until you agree with our premises" seems like a poor way to negotiate bipartisan legislation. https://t.co/yOSmaQUnTu

Isn’t putting forth legislation that you have no intention of voting yes for a “political stunt”?
— Tyler Harper (@TillaDaDrilla) March 26, 2019
They just want to use the climate bogeyman to point fingers at the other side and say “look they don’t care” when they don’t vote for this ridiculous bill that makes no sense
— Tyler Harper (@TillaDaDrilla) March 26, 2019
She’s going to get hell for opposing #GreenNewDeal right?
— AstrO (@Mi_Astronauta) March 26, 2019
She’s already catching a lot of flak for inviting members of AIPAC to her office in defiance of freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar.
So, that's a no on the important legislation that will save us all, then? Okay.

Lighting straw men on fire can't be good for the environment, if that's a thing she still cares about after deciding to NOT support the #GreenNewDeal today. https://t.co/cqMsQLB9an

Why did nobody vote yes for the bill?
— Shane Marino (@BlueCheckMarck) March 26, 2019
I know… it's a mystery. ?
— PacerX (@PacerX1) March 26, 2019
You have been all for it in the campaign trail. Political stunt?
— Mara (@maramasu) March 26, 2019
What political stunt…she sponsored the bill. Is she talking about her own stunts?
— Dave Coleman (@dave_onion) March 26, 2019
I, Kamala Harris, have taken bold, decisive action to both tackle AND fight the greatest existential threat to our planet, by voting “Present.”
Leadership you can believe in.
