NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell adopted President Trump’s trademark “Sad!” exclamation as a hashtag Thursday when she announced that he would be leaving the G7 summit in Quebec early.

Even though the meeting hadn’t happened yet, Mitchell explained that it was Trump’s desire to spend as little time with America’s (formerly) friendliest allies that accounted for his change of schedule.

On Saturday, though, Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade proposed another reason why Trump might have ducked out early:

So, just maybe, Trump wasn’t preemptively scheduling an escape hatch from a sure-to-be-hostile meeting?
