North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory today signed a number of bills into law, including a motorcycle safety bill to which several abortion restrictions had been amended. That prompted Planned Parenthood and other groups to hold a vigil outside the governor’s mansion to protest what they’re calling the #MotorcycleVagina law.

In a statement, McCrory contended that the law “does not further limit access, and those who contend it does are more interested in politics than the health and safety of our citizens.” Senate Bill 353 requires clinics that perform abortions to meet standards similar to ambulatory surgical centers.

Protests will continue tomorrow with an afternoon session of dress-up.
