In Syria, Islamist militants are massacring members of the Druze community, a religious minority in the nation. Social media is chock-full of horrific images and video of those Islamists attacking Druze men, shaving their beards before executing them, including 80-year-old Sheikh Marhej Shaheen.
Why is Israel almost alone in expressing concern for or doing anything about the massacre of Druze in Syria?

After spending the better part of the last two years screaming about Israel's 'genocide' in Gaza, I would expect the Left to be outraged about the massacre of Druze at the hands of radical Islamists.
I would be wrong.
Instead, the Left are ... mad at Israel. For preventing an actual genocide of a population who did nothing wrong except exist in Syria.

Some of you are speaking against Israel without even knowing who the Druze are… Yikes.
I also notice a dearth of protests on college campuses across the country. From October 2023 onward, Leftist agitators and students at places like UCLA and Columbia occupied their respective campuses, harassed Jewish students, damaged buildings, and took janitors hostage.
This was all done in the name of 'globalizing the intifada' and for a 'free Palestine.' Guys like Zohran Mamdani talk about 'globalizing the intifada' is if it were a harmless slogan on par with 'where's the beef?' or 'the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup.'
Except it isn't. 'Globalizing the intifada' manifests itself in the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers on the streets of D.C. and the firebombing of pro-Israel demonstrators in Colorado, an act that killed 82-year-old Karen Diamond almost a month later.
But now that the Druze minority in Syria is being attacked, those same people are silent.

Their absence is not surprising because they don't actually care.
They don't care about dead Druze, just as they don't actually care about dead Palestinians. The deaths are just fodder they use to attack Israel. They're blaming Israel for this genocide (being carried out by radical Islamists) while Israel bombs Damascus to defend the Druze. This is also not new. Last year, Hezbollah hurled rockets at Israel and struck a soccer field, killing at least 12 and injuring dozens more -- most of them Druze children. Israel was blamed for that, too, with the AP saying Israel 'exchanged' fire with Hezbollah, thus causing the rocket to hit that soccer field.
This lack of caring on the part of American Leftists is two-fold: it's rooted in the rampant anti-Semitism that infects the Left. They have zero qualms about accusing Republicans of being Nazis and calling President Trump Hitler, while they actively push policies that foment violence against Jews and Israel. Part of that anti-semitism is borne of the Left's reactionary nature. The American right, over the last 30 years or so, has embraced Israel as an ally and -- in some circles -- a nation that has deep meaning to Christianity. Therefore, the Left automatically hates Israel and Jews.
But it's also as simple as this: whatever the Left is currently protesting is merely just their cause du jour, and nothing more. Nothing they do is authentic. There is no cause, no minority, no movement that actually means something to the Left. It's all performative.
It's their excuse to 'occupy' campuses, loot businesses, and engage in mob violence in furtherance of their ultimate agenda: bringing about the downfall of America so they can rebuild as the socialist utopia they long for. It's why they've gone from burning Minneapolis to the ground for George Floyd to protesting for Palestine to attacking ICE in the streets of Los Angeles.
Tomorrow, there will be another thing that outrages the Left. It too will be performative, and it would almost be entertaining. If it weren't so dangerous and deadly.
