When It Comes to Defeating Trump, His Foes Don't Have a Prayer

President Donald Trump has the best political enemies a man could ever ask for. Time and again, they hand him wins because their blinding hatred of the man makes them incapable of acting like sane, rational adults. Just yesterday, the Left made it possible for Trump to sign an Executive Order protecting women and girls' sports from men, and the optics of this picture are worth their weight in gold.

And now they're poised to hand Trump another win on religious freedom. This morning, Trump announced Attorney General Pam Bondi will head up a task force to combat anti-Christian bias.

WATCH:

The Biden-Harris administration made a point to classify Christians as 'domestic terrorists' and target them and put several Christian pro-life activists in jail on federal charges related to abortion. Kamala Harris said she didn't believe in religious freedom where abortion was involved; in other words, her administration would've forced Christians to choose between their medical jobs and their faith. She kicked Christians out of her rally and said membership in the Catholic Knights of Columbus was an extremist position that disqualified one from public office.

In Colorado, baker Jack Phillips has been dragged through the courts for years because gay activists targeted his business, demanding he bake cakes for events that he objected to on religious grounds.

There is a clear and intentional anti-Christian bias on the Left, one that was infused into government policy during the Biden-Harris years.

Trump is addressing that issue, as he should.

And now California Congressman Jared Huffman is going to prove Trump right on this issue, too.

Why? Jared Huffman suddenly thinks the National Prayer Breakfast is a concoction of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and a sign of Christian nationalism. Or something.

The National Prayer Breakfast has taken place since 1953 and Dwight Eisenhower was the first president to speak at the event. In the 72 years since it started, presidents have spoken at the event. Including Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Did Huffman condemn Biden or Obama? A cursory search of his X feed didn't show anything.

Not surprising.

It's (D)ifferent when they do it.

The notion of 'separation of church and state' has long been debunked. It does not prohibit the expression of religion by government officials or on government grounds. This was a lesson the Biden-Harris administration learned when they tried to block the Knights of Columbus from holding a Memorial Day Mass at a Virginia cemetery. It only prohibits the establishment of a state religion and prohibits the government from interfering with religious expression.

But if Rep. Huffman wants to go there, fine. He should have no problem with the Trump administration pulling all funds related to illegal immigration from Catholic charities. Gotta respect that church-state wall, after all.

You'll be (not) shocked to learn searching Rep. Huffman's account for 'Catholic' and 'bishops' yields no results. So clearly, that wall he's so eager to defend has some cracks in it.

There's also nothing in the National Prayer Breakfast that is explicitly Christian. The concept of 'prayer' is found in most religions, and -- to the best of my knowledge -- no one is excluded from the Prayer Breakfast if they are not Christian. Both King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Dalai Lama addressed the International Lunch (part of the Prayer Breakfast).

But why let facts stand in the way of a good narrative?

So as Huffman and his merry band of malcontents march against the Prayer Breakfast and rail against Christian nationalism, they'd do well to remember that 67% of Americans identify as Christian and that they're on the brink of handing Donald Trump another easy political win.

Maybe one day, they'll learn not to do that. But I doubt it.
