Stealth inflation: Rather than raise prices, food manufacturers shrink portions

Anyone who’s ever lived in the UK knows that packaged food sizes compared to US servings are like lorries to 18-wheelers. They have tiny little slice-above-dorm-room-sized refrigerators, and yogurt, for example, is dispensed in a size that many Americans would describe as two spoonfuls. Now, both abroad and in the US, portions are shrinking before our eyes. The Daily Mail, where the big question seems to be which spokesmen at which consumer advocacy institutions are saying it:
