Media Morons for America is very, very concerned about the gentle sensibilities of the Army private whose legal name is still Bradley Manning. Manning, sentenced to 35 years for leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks, said in a statement last week that he wants to be called Chelsea and hopes to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. Some media outlets, including NPR, have honored Manning’s request.  By contrast, CNN and Fox News are sticking with “Bradley” — and this makes MMFA unhappy.

We know it’s fashionable on the Left to let people declare their own gender, but as several Twitter users pointed out, Manning still has male genitals.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper responded to the criticism of the network’s policy to stick with Manning’s legal name:

  • Clayton Grant

“CNN has no excuse for continuing to call themselves an objective news organization.”
Fixed it for you, Media Morons.

    • Clete Torres

Apply the same to MSNBCBSABCNYT et al.

  • Lotte Lenya

These people and their endless whining about every minutiae or perceived slight against anyone or anything are beyond tiring.

    • shimauma

I would say brad’s Y-chromozome would be a reasonable excuse to call him a male, though his behavior is more p*$$y oriented.

  • Fire and Adjust!

Yeah yeah yeah…………….. and calling Al Sharpton a race uniter will NOT make it so, calling Barry a great president will NOT make it so, calling John Kerry a war hero will not make it so, and……….you guessed it……..calling Media Matters relevant will NOT make it so……….changing labels do NOT change realities……….

  • Rape Culture Coterie

Media Matters has posted at least eight different pieces on the failure of some news media outlets to refer to Bradley Manning as a female – eight! The usual denizens flock to these stories like flies on crap, condemning the behavior of these same networks/outlets as ‘hate-filled’ and the product of “transphobia”. Learned a new word yesterday which the MM morons were quick to point out has been around for a long time. OK – whatever! It’s interesting when one gets into a dust-up with many over there – so totally convinced that the responders there are mostly communist transexuals and/or David Brock wannabees. They really are most pathetic – especially the likes of FedUpFed who is about as loony as they come!

    • NXXII

Remember the good old days when “Transphobia” meant fear of transfats?

  • RememberSekhmet

Why. The. Actual. Frak. Are. People. Worried. About. Offending. A. Convicted. Criminal?
That’s what really gets me about this. If we are going to get bent out of shape because Nelson decides s/he wants to be called Nellie from here on out, and someone did not respect that, shouldn’t we care if said Nelson was otherwise an unassuming, law-abiding citizen? It’s like worrying about offending the delicate sensibilities of that serial killer guy who got silicone boobs at taxpayer expense while in prison. If you want the protection of others’ politeness, be polite enough to obey the frakking law.

  • kateorjane

boo hoo, we’re supposed to be sensitive to the traitor’s delicate feelings? Personally I hope they put his sorry arse in with bubba & Bruno who will help his transition to low class bit*h along.

    • Clete Torres

Once he processes in at USDB*, he’ll be reminded that yes, you are male, and yes, you will be treated as a male, and yes, you will STFU about wanting to be called ‘Chelsea’ or whatever the hell, or yes, you will be serving a lot longer than the time it takes to get to your first chance for parole.

Sorry, whiny libs. That’s just the way it is.

*USDB: United States Disciplinary Barracks, Fort Leavenworth KS. Military prison, run by military personnel, run to military rules. NOT a country club, by any stretch.

  • TugboatPhil

I want to be called “His Royal Highness, King Poopypants” from now on, because that’s who I think I am.

(I can neither confirm nor deny that I actually have poopy pants)

  • Thomas Purcell

Until he whacks it off he is referred to by his gender, Until he legally changes his name to Chelsea his name is Bradley. Journalism 101

  • WhoDat

There is no excuse. Though legally and biologically still a male, Manning wishes to be called Chelsea. Why is that so difficult?

Think of it as a nickname or something.

    • tops116

And yet, Manning’s legal name is still “Bradley.” That sounds like a pretty good excuse.

We’re talking about a news organization (or in the case of CNN, a reasonable facsimile of a news network) using a person’s legal name. Why is that so difficult to understand?

      • The Penguin #PublishThatSh*t

Assuming…and I’m going waaay out on a limb here, this is even ‘newsworthy’, yes Manning’s name is still LEGALLY Bradley. Therefore CNN should be using ‘Bradley’. Maybe they should just use his last name when referring to him/her until it’s actually changed. Although why the personal wishes of a convicted traitor are of any importance to anyone escapes me.

      • Sons Thunder

Bobby Jindal’s legal name is Piyush Jindal.

    • Clete Torres

Because as you put it, he’s still legally and biologically a male.

Is it really that hard to understand?

      • Big Meanie

    • The Penguin #PublishThatSh*t

Like…because of what you just stated.

    • NXXII

      He’s a man.
He was born a man and whatever nazi science he pays people to do to him he will always be a man. He’s obviously mentally ill and no amount of cultural rot and moonbat polemics masquerading as impartial “science” can change the truth.
It’s sad that people are willing to exploit HIM for politics. Had he gotton help earlier before this nonsense took hold we could have been spared the whole ugly incident and alot of people including him would be much better off.

      • Big Meanie

        And this!

    • Stephen L. Hall

Have you heard of the way H.P. Lovecraft signed his correspondence? We do not call people what they want to be called just because they so desire.

    • Richard Jefferies

      It’s not HIS legal name.

    • Maxwell

“Think of it as a nickname…”

That kind of defeats your argument, since one of the unspoken rules is “You don’t create your own nickname.”

    • Shawn Smith

I identify as a rodent and would like to be addressed as Chippy the Wonder-Squirrel. Why are you such a bigot that you’re not cooperating?

    • AnnJo

And why should we care what he wants? Doesn’t treason pretty much take him of the list of people whose whims get catered to?

  • arttie

“The traitor formerly known as Bradley Manning” is what needs to be used.

  • tops116

“CNN has no excuse for continuing to call Chelsea Manning a man”

Except for the fact that “Chelsea” still has a penis.

    • Stephen L. Hall

And “Bradley” is still his legal name.

  • JR48

Who cares what Manning’s gender is? What possible difference does it make?

None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Squat. It’s completely irrelevant.

    • AnnJo

Statistics show men are much more likely to commit serious crimes. As a woman, maybe I don’t want Bradley messing up my group’s stats. Or maybe I don’t like him and WANT to offend him.

  • Jack Deth

Do Bradley Manning’s Military ID card and Dog Tags denote “Male”?

    If so:

    Dear Media Matters. STFU!!!!!

    • shimauma

I would say his Y-chromozome also denotes him as male, though his behavior denotes him as a big old limp pencil.

  • Guest

    Can we call him Nancy?

    Taming of the Media

Does this remind anyone else of that scene in “Taming of the Shrew” where he commands his wife to call the man a woman and agree with whatever nonsense he spouts?

    • Shawn Smith

Per 1984, forcing someone to “confess” something both you and they know to be untrue is the ultimate expression of tyranny. Whether you achieve this end by torture or by social pressure (“You’re a horrible bigot!”), this is tyranny in its most naked form.

  • Clete Torres

“CNN has no excuse for continuing to call Chelsea Manning a man”

Yeah, none at all. Except for the penis and testicles, you know, stuff like that.

    • Richard Jefferies

And don’t forget a Y chromosome. Just because a person’s brain is broken, doesn’t change biological realities, CNN.

      • shimauma

Holy buckets, not only did you post this first, but I’ve been spelling it wrong all along.

        • Shawn Smith

Yeah, I was shocked by that too. I had to look it up in an online dictionary. I’m still a little unsure about that word.

      • Tigerspike

        This. This so much.

    • shimauma

    • Wiki David

Aaaah… maybe because he was tried as a man, enlisted as a man, committed treason as a man and has been called Bradley for 25 yrs.?

      • Clete Torres

Insignificant detail, per MMFA and Wikipedia.

Yes, if you search Bradley Manning on Wikipedia it comes up Chelsea Manning.

        • TJCrane_NCC1701

          That’s really messed up !

Wiki US v. Manning and it refers to him as “she” and his pic says Chelsea.

These people are just batshirt crazy !

I guess “freak” is out of the question, because cutting your balls off is now considered normal.

    • Cajun

I guess ole’ Bradley, uh, er, Chelsea, (so sorry), has made the forward thinking idea that he/she won’t need the front part in prison, only the back part. It’s economics, really.

    • Stephen L. Hall

Quite true, the proper term is “eunuch” not male or female.

    • The Penguin #PublishThatSh*t

That statement, although somewhat ‘painful’ in many ways, is sad as it is true. By the way dude…don’t hold back…say what you’re really thinking.

All those “Free Bradley” and “Filner for Mayor” t-shirts end up somewhere, people!

  • schveiguy

Media Matters has no excuse for continuing to do just about anything.

  • Barry A. Brewer

I prefer to use Chelsea’s “street name.” Traitorous Biatch

  • Hannibal

    Media Matters? No, it doesn’t.

  • Junie3

Said one psycho group to one psycho man.

  • Dragomance

Calling it now. In another few months he’ll want to be called Michelle.

  • walterc

As a taxpayer that will be picking up his medical tab for the next 35 years, I object to him having hormone therapy. I’m guessing he’ll be treated like the camp b&tch in prison any way. Secondly, I prefer to use the term MALE rather than MAN when describing this worthless coward. Being a man is much more than having penis. The Democratic is full of people with penises that are not men.

Up is now down; in is now out – get it straight (pun intended)!

  • DTM

How about just America traitor & pervert Manning – gender neutral.

I’m sure changing the name Manning will be next – a pervert with the word MAN in the name? Can’t have that now can it?

Cough it up taxpayers – time to pay for perversion – again. Thank “progressives/democrats/liberals”

  • Bryn Watkins

How does criminal, convict or traitor work for ya, Media Matters?

  • John Ansell

Yes, his…um…her? new name is Chelsea “Clinton” Manning. Hillary is working for that LGBT vote.

  • Bemani Dog

Bradley Manning is a traitor, and does not deserve to be called what HE wants to be called.

  • Sureitis

Next week, Bradley might decide he’s a dolphin but that doesn’t change the fact that genetically, he’s a male human. Since when are the rest of us forced to pander to his mental delusions?

  • John Fowler

    “Her name is Chelsea.”

Do a lot of females have wieners? I mean, I don’t get around like I used to, but has the old game changed that much?

    • Slam1263

      Modified wooden toilet roll holder.
      It’s a detachable Penis.
      /King Missile FTW!!

  • Phineas Q.

If he legally changes his name to Chelsea I’ll refer to him by that name; he’ll be a guy named Chelsea. If he gets hormone treatments and has his genitals removed and/or repurposed to look like female genitalia, he’ll be a guy named Chelsea who got a doctor to mangle his man-parts.

If he can switch out his DNA for female DNA, I’ll be more open to referring to him as “her”.

The same outfit run by a guy who opposes your gun rights, but had his bodyguard carry ILLEGALLY in D.C. Some animals are more equal than others. Media Matters and David Brock can go fornicate themselves.

  • IceColdTroll

Well I’ll axe our liberal visitors this one more time. If it is inappropriate, even “hateful” for a white man to make up like a black man, and behave & speak in a way which reflects black American culture, why is it appropriate – even laudable – for a white man to to make up and act like a white woman?

After all, aren’t women oppressed victims of white male patriarchy as much as black folk? why is it acceptable for Bradley Manning to wear a dress and call himself Chelsea but not to use a skin darkener and call himself Trayvon? Really, how is it different, if he said he felt like a black man trapped in a white man’s body?

  • Mekadave

*doublechecks* Nope, still don’t care what anyone from Media Matters thinks.

  • keyboard jockey

Why call him anything but convict? There is no need to refer to him at all.

  • Spasmolytic

To all the liberals trolling Breitbart, a cross-dressing freak isn’t a hero. Brave men like the Green Berets are the real heroes —

  • Stephen Signer

I would suggest a gender-free name. Traitor Manning
It fits and does not carry the burden of being a solely male name

  • Thomas, Snarkmaster General

Okay, okay, Media Matters. I’ll comply with your request. I will call Bradley Manning “Chelsea.” But with one caveat.

I get to call you “Lying Sacks of Monkey Crap Supported By George Soros.”

    Or “Assclowns” for short.

  • Thomas, Snarkmaster General

Or maybe we can just call Manning… “Loretta.”

  • The Jackal

I don’t give a shit what they call him. He’s still a little sissy boy traitor. Fuck HIM!!!!!!!

  • jaun456

Has the name been legally been changed to Chelsea ? If it has then call it Chelsea, if not call it Bradley.

All the folks who are rushing to call him a her, seem to be looking for an excuse to look Manning between the legs. Perverts!

  • AnnJo

He (by law, genetics, biology, physiology, and biochemistry) is a traitor. Who cares what he wants people to call him. He doesn’t get to have his whims respected and catered to, except by people who admire and cater to traitors. I’m just surprised CNN isn’t leading the pack to do that.

  • ToyZebra

When he gets out of prison then he can pay for his own sex change. By then he’ll look like Nancy Pelosi, but that will be his problem.

  • Zefal

I’m afraid to ask what they call david brock over at media matters.

  • Ramone Love

I want to be called Zoltan, King of the Gypsy’s from now on.
