As you’ve probably heard by now, that shooting at Ohio State University this morning wasn’t a shooting at all, but a “car-and-knife attack” reportedly perpetrated by a Somali student.
MSNBC Pete Williams. OSU knife attack suspect was an 18 year-old Somali refugee who was an OSU student.

And, as is so often the case with this sort of thing, the truth dealt a mighty blow to gun grabbers’ ghoulish agenda. Vox, for example, has already had to walk their freakout back:

Erstwhile vice presidential hopeful Tim Kaine also got ahead of himself:
Deeply saddened by the senseless act of gun violence at Ohio State this morning. Praying for the injured and the entire Buckeye community
— Tim Kaine (@timkaine) November 28, 2016
A few hours later, he, too, tried to walk it back:

Updated reports say attacker used a vehicle & knife. Horrifying & senseless. Relieved the scene is secure & praying for victims' recovery https://t.co/CzKRjM3qlO

But it was too little, too late. His beclownment was already in full swing.

More a case of biting his ski-tips than getting out too far over them, Gov. Kaine vaults to a wrong conclusion. https://t.co/I6RYZX38mn

The only guns used were by the police. Try and confirm before you politicize.
— Rick Moore (@RickMoore) November 28, 2016
did you check facts? The "gun violence" was a cop shooting only. The perps used a car and knife (favorite weapon of jihadis)
— Pouncing Coder Brad (@bradcundiff) November 28, 2016
.@timkaine There was no "gun violence," except for the cop ending the life of a stabbing suspect.
Sorry your anti-liberty narrative failed.

AGAIN……
— BEAR (@streetbear57) November 28, 2016
Do you think maybe your instinct to immediately blame "gun violence" might be partly why you're not vice president-elect? https://t.co/Wifwsvi5K4
— John Tabin (@johntabin) November 28, 2016
That could have something to do with it …
