Dude. Dude:

That happened yesterday in Alabama.

OK, maybe we’re jumping the gun a little. Let’s give Holmes a chance to clarify his remarks:

Oh.

Yeah, that really doesn’t make him look any better.

So, for those keeping score at home, a Democratic politician admitted to making up crap and smearing Justice Clarence Thomas as an Uncle Tom.

That seems pretty newsworthy to us. Wouldn’t you agree?

Exactly.

So why didn’t we hear about it right after it happened? Didn’t the MSM think it was worth covering?

This one certainly wasn’t thoroughly vetted — by the public or the mainstream media.

Democrats summoning their inner KKK yet again.

    • nobodobodon

I kinda don’t think Holmes would be welcome in the KKK.

  • Wart

Whodat we need you to tell us how this isn’t racist. While your at it could you tell us again about the left wing leaders being tolerant of minority republicans.

    • Hot_wings

Maybe WhatWouldStupidDo and Bath House Area will engage us in their wisdom too, you know like callus WWAAAAACCCiSSSSSTT for even responding to this.

  • journogal

Where are our resident liberals trolls, complete with screenshots, polls and more, telling us that either we misunderstood Holmes, he misspoke, Clarence Thomas isn’t a “real black,” Thomas is a Republican, thus he is an Uncle Tom, or Republicans say worse (yet never provide any proof); or my personal favorite, just call us racists/bigots and whatever else. Come on, guys, don’t let us down with your “liberal wisdom,” and claims of how accepting and tolerant liberals truly are of others.

    • justlittlolme

I hope you aren’t holding your breath waiting for them to chime in! :-)

      • Wart

        I know I am.

      • journogal

Not with repugnance toward the remark made by Holmes or anything factual, but they’ll eventually make their way over with some talking points.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I love when liberals defend racism from their side by claiming our side does far worse. Then can’t ever give any real examples of Conservatives being racist.

      • in_awe

how about when they called condalisa rice a house n*?!? What? Who said that?

        Never mind…

      • in_awe

How about when they called the black candidate for Maryland governor an Oreo? What? Who called him that?

        Never mind.

    • Electradivine

Proof? Plenty proof just by the comments on twitchy articles about “black people” being a bunch of stuff., calling Michelle Obama a animal from Star Wars that looks like a ape, wookie (cough code word ).. This gets old , you know what you guys do, ignorant to the core and think people can’t see it….And btw this congressman was way out of line and should apologize to Thomas

      • journogal

People on Twitter vs Media in the case of conservative women. Defend your caring and tolerant liberals and how that degrade conservative women. Come on, defend your side…

      • journogal

And by the way, where is you outrage over this? None, of course not, but you came running to posting, didn’t you? But tell me how liberals are racist, okay?

      • journogal

“You guys?” A little bigoted/racist there, aren’t you? You know what gets really old? being called a “racist” because some don’t immediately bow down and grovel at the mere site of the President (a public servant) and First Lady? You know what gets really old? Not holding Obama and his administration under the same standards as Bush. You know what gets really old? The media ignoring this, but will pounce at the slightest things a Republican may utter. You know what gets really old? Being called a racist because you disagree with the President’s policies.

      • rosetta_stoned

calling Michelle Obama a animal from Star Wars that looks like a ape, wookie (cough code word )

Please tell me Chewbacca’s racial makeup. Or how he looks – in any way – like an ape.

        Do tell.

        • journogal

Supposed “code words” of conservatives, yet liberals have no problems calling saying “uncle tom,” house n*egro,” and other slurs without using so-called “code words.”

        • Electradivine

So liberals ignore racism on their side , and hope it goes away, while conservatives try to debate and explain away their racism

          • journogal

What a joke, and of course you believe that. Where are the liberals on MSNBC coming out and saying this in wrong? The same ones that said that “right wingers would hate the Cheerios commercial.” The same ones who made fun of Romney’s adopted grandchild. Where are they condemning or calling out this statement? You mean the same liberals that do not have a problem with calling basically any minority who DARES doesn’t disagree with Obama names? What is it like going through your life this ignorant?
Liberals don’t ignore racism, as seen above (or did you not realize that the above is Democrat saying this about a Republican?) – they blatantly state it, not having to use so-called “code words” – they publicly calls conservative minorities “Uncle Tom,” “House &egro,” “White Man’s Puppet,” and worse because they know the media won’t dare call them out.

          • Electradivine

I wish reading comp was something you could get, I was explaining how liberals ignore racism when someone says something racist on their side, and hope it goes away , so basically throwing you a bone … But visiting this right wing site, I’ve noticed that conservatives try to explain and debate away racist remarks made by someone that is on their side of the political aisle, do try to keep up

          • Zane Henry

So you see no problem with equating the comments of anonymous people on a website with a pointed and blatantly racist statement by an elected official, while in the State House no less? And what’s worse, his stupid, racist statement was even pointless to his asinine argument in the fist place. He just sorta tossed it in there. But I guess, as a clueless liberal, you would be incapable of holding your elected racists to any sort of standard that might be a tad higher than us riff-raff on this site. Pathetic.

          • Electradivine

Nope I don’t see the difference between any ignorant bigot type of comments, they are all racist and ignorant in my mind…but like I said conservatives try to debate and deflect racist comments from their side of the aisle, instead of calling it out . Which you are doing in spades. Typical

          • Zane Henry

please feel free to list any of the racist comments from our side of the aisle (meaning elected officials or those in the public eye) that in ANY way compares to what this idiot said. And no, the left’s ever changing list of dog whistle nonsense doesn’t count. We all know that list is vaporware meant only to stifle criticism of the failure that is leftist policy.

          • Calcat36

You said liberals ignore it. Is that good to you?

Now cite the racism and racist code words that conservatives use, who used them, and where they were used.

            Nice try, liar.

          • Electradivine

The fact that I’m getting a lot of replies for this statement shows that I’m right , you guys want to clearly debate what’s clearly racist bigot like terms that come from your side of the aisle instead of just admitting its wrong

Since you are deflecting and playing ignorant , I’ll just throw out a few

“Wookie” for the first black lady in us history

“Muslim n chief ” for the first black president

“Low information voters “- for the mass of minorities that voted for the president, very cute code word btw

Plenty more but this should suffice , but of course you probably see nothing wrong with these terms, and want to debate the ignorance of these terms, which goes back to my first statement about conservatives and how they deal with racism from their side

          • TexSizzle

            1. Muslim is not a race.

            2. What race is Chewbacca?

            3. People who ignore what a politician does and claims to believe, and vote for him / her for reasons such as skin color, qualify as low-information voters, as do people who vote for someone only because of the D or R after their name. We who think vote for or against someone because of what he or she claims to believe, and if the claims do not match the actions, we look for someone else to support..

            4. When lefties have no facts to support their claims, they yell “Racist!”, so when they call us racists, we know we have won the argument.

          • mike_in_kosovo

I wish reading comp was something you could get

          • QueenB

Well, at least you admit liberals are a bunch of racisist. Interesting how you say liberals ignore it and just want it to go away. Apparently when Eric Holder said we are chickens for not wanting to have a conversation about racism, he was referring to Democrats.

Funny how it works out sometimes, isn’t it?

Wonder if michael s will show up to defend the statement.

    Mr. Alabama rep:

But the left elite would never say anything racist about black republicans.

That said good on you for calling it like it is.

      • WhoDat

If this guy was a member of the “left elite” he wouldn’t be in the Alabama House.

That said, what he said is inexcusable.

        • Wart

What does it take to be a liberal elite to you? (no anger just curious.)

          • WhoDat

            US Congress or POTUS.

          • H50 ✓RAT

So a rep at the state level, has no impact on their constituents, shapes no laws that impact national policy and enjoys no privileges not afforded to regular citizens just because they are a big fish in a little pond and therefore is not a member of the elite? Is that what your trying to say here?
You cant possibly be that naive.

          • Clete Torres

            Not naive. Deliberately troll.

          • WhoDat

When I think of “elite” I think of someone in the tops of their fields. Member of a state House isn’t that.

Elite pertains to the ruling class. State politicians rule at the state level and are therefore elite.

Maybe the MSM was too busy writing stories about ex-Mayor Ray Nagin’s convictions today on “one overarching conspiracy count, six counts of bribery, nine counts of wire fraud, one count of money laundering conspiracy, and four counts of filing false tax returns.”

    • H50 ✓RAT

Nope nothing about that so far either.
Maybe some republican said wee wee or libido and they are just too busy./
Nagin is just a local story. /

I look forward to MSNBC’s coverage of this story. “Remember when we claimed Republicans would hate a cereal ad for featuring biracial families? Well… let’s talk about that instead of this Holmes business.”

  • rennyangel2

The right rev. Wright is married to a white woman and lives in a predom. white gated community. Is he an Uncle Tom?

So now we know who’s really behind those complaints about the new Cheerios commercials!

  • Paladin

But but but but….. the KKKlan switched sides … all those racist Democrats became Republicans and tea partiers right? The liberals on the intertubes told me so.

  • KhadijahMuhammad

How many times do they have to tell you? If you’re black, you can’t be a racist!

Alvin Holmes is right! Clarence Thomas IS a Cornball Brother!-Rob Parker

    • michael s

You are wrong. Supreme Court Justice Thomas isn’t a cornball brother. It was wrong for rep Winkler to make that racist remark. Its just as wrong for rep Holmes and yourself.

      • TheOriginalDonald

Google Rob Parker and you MIGHT get what I was saying

  • Watcher3568

God forbid a man from a humble and poor back ground is taught morality and self respect and against all odds achieves the position of a supreme court judge.
I remember when Buden was for him before he was against him and almost threw him under the bus at those hearings based on Lies told by Anita Hill.
I’m proud of him and honored to be his contemporary

  • michael s

Supreme court Justice Clarence Thomas is not an Uncle Tom. Rrp Holmes should immediately apologize for his statement.

    • http://www.black-and-right.com/ Ice Cold Troll

Your statement is disturbingly narrow and scholastic. What is he then?

And where are the howls of indignation which would follow the declaration of some white man that, say, Jesse Jackson is a minstrel-show huckster (for example)?

      • Guest

“Your statement is disturbingly narrow and scholastic. What is he then?”

Precisely, look at Clarence Thomas’s views, they’re clearly “white” and not “black”… right? So he IS an Uncle Tom for having the wrong views for a black person. That’s your point, right?

If a black person doesn’t conform to the stereotype you have of them it’s their fault and they should be blamed for having the wrong thoughts… That is your argument, right?

Freedom of thought and opinion; only white people should have it… any good liberal knows that, right FrozenTroll? Or would you care to explain how that’s untrue; but a racist attack against a minority for their views is also perfectly acceptable?

Racism is only bad when it’s not a liberal?
I’m not seeing any other common thread here.

  • AZWarrior

He should be censured by the House for his profoundly racist remark on the floor.

  • disqus_hAhCSx3yHf

Amazing, the racist of the racists spouting such stupidity. Oh, but since it’s a libertard it’s ok.

  • EndangeredNJRepub

Calling Clarence Thomas an uncle tom? Coming from the left? I’m simply stricken with shock and disbelief.

  • MartiniShark

I got into a protracted discussion with a reporter who said there were so many other things he could criticize Thomas about, with no criticism of the racist comments. The entire time he continued to ask me why I’d accuse him of being an apologist, all while he never came close to making a critical word about Holmes. Comical.

  • Richard Vandiamondsworth

PAY NO ATTENTION to another disgusting racist liberal.

According to the enemedia, we Conservs are supposed to be too busy complaining about interracial Cheerios commercials.

Does that mean he doesn’t want any white folks voting for his racist self?

Also kinda looks like he’s having a bit of trouble accepting the departure of his hair. #GetAHaircut

  • san rafael blue

Frankly, Mr. Holmes, I don’t think Justice Thomas gives a good g/damn what you like or don’t like about his marriage. It’s not your business, and you have just made a National Fool out of yourself !!

  • Acethepug

Why aren’t the rest of the Dems, rank and file, speaking out against this?

Oh, right, that only applies to Republicans, what was I thinking …
The Dems are right, racism is alive and well in America. Unfortunately for them, that racism has found a home in the Democratic Party, where it is used as a “boy who cried wolf” accusation, as well as being used to attack Conservative minorities.
So the next time someone says you are a racist for opposing Obama, ask them why they are such monstrous racists that they won’t permit a (half) black man to be judged by his accomplishments, or lack thereof?

  • rdt400

The democrats just showing their true colors, nothing most didn’t already know.

  • Viator16

I’m oppose to miscegenation, too; however, it is strange to see a black man upset over a black man having sexual intercourse with a white woman. That is the goal of most black men.

  • ExVariable

Many quacks have begun to argue that there is no need to limit the power of government because it has been chosen with democratic methods.
