Nearly a year after the deadly attacks in Benghazi, investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson continues to relentlessly pursue the truth:
FBI denied the Freedom of Info requests I made re: Benghazi…and I appealed the denials a long time ago. Finally heard back!
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
Even in the face of an obstructive government:
FBI says I can't have any info. Not even one page.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
Let’s hear it for transparency!
They say it's because release of the info could interfere with law enforcement proceedings.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
I guess they can claim that exemption pretty much forever, if they choose.

Ridiculous. And — surprise! — the White House isn’t cooperating, either:
Still waiting for White House to call back to release the White House photos from Benghazi night. I've been asking since last fall…
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
The White House photo office says they're happy to release photos but need White House press office approval.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
“Happy to release photos”? Bull.
White House press office hasn't returned a single call regarding this query (and I believe we started calling in late fall).
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
(Originally, when asked White House photo office said photos were often releasable the same day of the request).
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
Attkisson isn’t doing this just for her; she’s doing it for all of us. We all deserve to know the truth.
Of course, if I can't get any of this info, that means you can't have it. You paid for it and it's gathered on your behalf, but —
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
— we certainly don't want to jeopardize the chance that law enforcement may finally capture one of the 9/11 Benghazi suspects.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
Heaven forbid!
I just don't know the official reason why we can't have the White House photos taken that night.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
Because there is no good reason, except that the Obama administration wants to make sure we stay in the dark about what really happened in Benghazi.
All I asked for was info and photos similar to what WH released after successful bin Laden raid.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) August 16, 2013
But with regard to Benghazi, there’s no football for Obama to spike.
For now, this is all we get from FBI on Benghazi pic.twitter.com/xxcRx74F0X

we can't have any visuals either (incl surveillance video CIA agreed to release before Petraeus was fired.) pic.twitter.com/8TvJKGjIY5

And so … deafening silence.
