As Twitchy reported, last night, a shrieking mob of pro-abortion activists disrupted the Texas state senate’s vote on S.B. 5, which would restrict most abortions starting at a gestational age of 20 weeks. Due to the protesters’ deafening outbursts and State Senator Wendy Davis’ filibuster, the bill was unable to come to a full vote before the special legislative session expired.

And according to Ana Marie Cox, that’s something to celebrate. This morning, she tweeted that she couldn’t contain her joyful tears over the fact that “women’s voices still matter.” Or, put another way, the sanctioning of late-term abortion is something beautiful.

She continued her disgusting victory dance:

(Davis notably wore pink sneakers during her bold, hours-long stand against the unborn.)

Such integrity!

All about the lady parts.

Part of a culture of death, perhaps?

Oh, and for those of you questioning Cox’s judgment, this ought to settle any doubts once and for all:

Just pathetic.

  • StandSomeMore

Hahahaa!!!! don’t hold your breath Ana Marie! Perry just called a second special session 😉

    • Fire and Adjust!

Maybe instead of buying a new pair of cowboy boots to celebrate Rick Perry calling a second special session, we should all donate the cost of new boots to Rick Perry’s campaign

Then lets see who has more money when all is said and done…………Wendy Davis or Rick Perry? My bet is on Rick……..

      • Lady 12

I think Perry would rather we donate that money to a pro-life organization.

      • Grandma HeadInjury

Dude, you are a genius! I love it (or Marta’s suggestion below)

      • TheOriginalDonald

or……we could donate the cost of those boots to Konni Burton’s campaign so Wendy can sit down

    • Jeremy

Yeah they just delayed the inevitable. They knew it would pass but, wanted to put on a show.

  • M F Scotto

I cannot enter the thought process whereby someone celebrates killing children in the womb. As a father of 4 and having wept at the hearing of their heartbeats in the womb, I cannot imagine defending the poisoning or worse of these defenseless humans. We are a nation populated by a large number who have given themselves over to a depraved mind. Sickening.

    • LinTaylor

You can’t imagine it, good sir, because you have a heart and a soul, something these people obviously lack.

    • Orwellian_Dilemma

Killing babies for fun and profit is a very high priority for some people.

    • stellatruman

As a mother of three who has zero affiliation with a church, it breaks my heart that women think of terminating their late term pregnancies as a health issue…like a freakin yeast infection

  • Dragomance

I always thought that the way to participate in a democracy was to vote or to at least let your state senator know how you feel on an issue. But on top of that,it’s incredibly annoying that she brings up her uterus as if that excludes men from the discussion.I still know late-term abortion is wrong and although people say it can be a tough decision, but I know that a child’s heartbeat is pretty early and that a child can start kicking before 20 weeks. If a woman feels those instances and her life isn’t in danger,it’d take a miracle to stop them.

    • SpinMeNot

only if that democracy increases the “freedoms” of people that don’t believe in God and the Constitution, and decreases the freedoms of those that do.

    • Thursdaythe12th

Funnily enough, women’s voices were not heard at the session because the voice of all the workers there were drowned out by a hysterical anti-democratic mob.

If you absolutely have to have abortion, then it should have a cap at 8 weeks. You are legally dead if either your heart or brain activity stop, and the heart begins beating at 6 weeks with the brain firing up at 8 – any killing of the ‘foetus’ after this stage will stop a human heart and brain – it will be legally dead and that is called murder.

Abortion is murder. Wendy Davis talked for all that time for you women to have the right to murder their baby. You need God.

    • SpinMeNot

Wait, are you saying the our beloved leader was right when he said “God Bless Planned Parenthood”?

It was at that point in time I realized that this country is well and truly clucked …

  • MJ Pauls

Okay, who spends $150 on shoes? Tennis shoes?!? I spent that on good, steel-toed work boots for standing on a concrete factory floor for 16 hours a day, but tennis shoes? Maybe I’m just cheap.

    • brando

Clearly you never seen kids and young adults wear Jordans

      • MJ Pauls

Are those shoes? I worked in a residential treatment facility for teenagers, and you wouldn’t believe the hissy fits thrown over name brand clothes. That won’t be allowed in my house. I already buy most of my daughter’s stuff at garage sales and consignment sales.

        • brando

Well kids my age (14-25ish) wear stuff (t shirts, shorts, shoes, hats, etc) from companies like Adidas, Michael Jordan’s brand company, Nike, New Era, etc. Some of these NBA stars have shoes that cost like $100-200. Absurd.

    • salvagesalvage

16 hours a day?! What are you on vacation? I wear whole steel boots and stand on hot coals for 27 hours a day holding sixty pounds of dead fish above my head.

      • MisterIncredible

        27 HOURS A DAY

        • Elaine

          It’s liberal math again. 2+2=5

      • Lisa Dean

So, does that make you a fish smoker?

      • Christoph DeHaven

So do you use the dead fish to cover the disgusting smell emanating from your mouth?

    • Charles Hammond Jr

Can I buy you a beer?

      • MJ Pauls

Ha! 😀 Thank you, but I never developed a taste for beer. That and apparently I’m a lightweight. My husband won’t let me drink too much. I fall asleep and we miss out on our fun time. 😉

    • Maxwell

That’s what I was thinking. My cross country running shoes were 80.

    • Lady 12

The most expensive pair of shoes I have is thirty dollars. I cannot fathom wasting that kind of money on something that will look crummy in a month of dirt and occasional rain … Unless you’re way out of touch… Oh wait, this snake is way of touch! Out of touch with reality, and out of touch with morality.

  • brando

I never understood why abortion is being categorized as a “women’s right” and Pro-life people are considered sexist pigs.

    • Billie Slash

Its called a euphemism. And a sinister one, at that.

  • yourmamatoo

This has nothing to do with women’s health.
    It is about murder.
    Shame on her.

  • cfc1905

Why stop women’s rights at the actual birth of a child?? Shouldn’t it be a woman’s “right” to abort a child she is being forced to care for? You know, like a test-drive. Give this mothering/breeding thing a try before you actually have to commit to raising the thing. I mean, what if it comes out with some disability? Is that fair to the breeder in question??

  • LinTaylor

Point 1: If someone took kittens or puppies they didn’t want, tied them up in a sack, and threw them into the river to drown, most people would be horrified and disgusted at that person.

Point 2: The Democrats are screeching for instant abortion the second one cell divides into two, and reject out-of-hand anybody who calls them cruel or unfeeling.

Conclusion: Democrats value human lives below those of animals.

  • likeablaze

Bad week for christian conservatives. They tried to make a bunch of new laws and got SLAPPED. Plus they give their tax money in support of their opposition to organize against them. Done and done!

    • truckee22

That’s ok. I will fight for what I believe until my time comes and when I stand in front of God and am judged, I will say I fought for what I believe and for what was right. My conscience is clear.

      • likeablaze

I bet you’ll get an upgrade in heaven for supporting MORE LAWS instead of just living your life by example.

        • Elaine

The example: we want to save babies? Then YES.

        • Lisa Dean

Living your life by example – you mean like using birth control and not ending up in a situation you don’t want to be in?

        • truckee22

More laws like the ones that make all abortion illegal? I will continue to work for that.

          • likeablaze

And you will continue to lose. At this rate I bet Republicans will lose the house again.

          • truckee22

Keep believing that. Obumbler’s scandals are pushing swing voters away and rallying the base.

          • likeablaze

        • truckee22

And it has nothing to do with getting an “upgrade in heaven”. It’s about standing for what I believe in and for what my morals tell me are right, regardless of what you or anyone else thinks.

          • likeablaze

You are free to live by your morals in America. You are trying to impose your “morals” regardless of what anyone else thinks.

          • rickg62

And your morals include the murder of the helpless?

          • truckee22

So murdering an innocent baby is a moral that only Christians believe in? I’m pretty sure it’s universally condemned.

          • CrusadaB

          • Michael Anderson (WB)

Early in the last century there was a minority group in the Democrat party going around lynching African Americans. You might have heard of them. Another group of people, mostly Republicans, imposed their morality on them and eventually even the Democrat leadership came around and we got the Civil Rights Act to stick. Are you saying we shouldn’t have imposed our morality on them?

    • Elaine

Why do you idiots always bring religion into everything? Does not advance your anti-American agenda by doing so.

    • Billie Slash

Hate to break it to you, genius. Gov. Perry has called another special session for July 1. Its not done. The baby-killers have not won.

    • Grandma HeadInjury

      Yawn. Your repetitiveness is redundant….

  • brewerandpatriot

I think Obamacare should install sterilization clauses for abortion abusers. Female AND male-rapists and pedophiles jump to the front of the line.

  • FlatFoot

And who is the “voice” of the Unborn?         ALL. OF. US. ARE!

  • Jeremy

She is one sick person it’s amazing that she can live with herself every day.

  • John Urban

Amazing how few Re-Tweets Cox gets from her over 1 million followers. Are they mostly fake accounts?

  • $27789750

Her reaction and response is callous and cruel. It’s one thing to win on the issue of destroying viable children, it’s quite another to rejoice over their destruction. This woman is sick.

  • Marvin Nelson

When will these liberal idiots learn the difference between a Constitutional Republic and a democracy? Oh, wait, they went to government schools and never learned to think. My bad.

  • rivers

These devils care not that these little ones can feel pain, what demon would celebrate mercy for the most helpless being thwarted in this way?
Ana Cox et al, go ahead and cry tears of joy that you can f*** without consequence and not have your life interrupted for nine months for the sake of another. That sounds ugly, but it is you pigs that have made it so.

  • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

“Fight isn’t over, but we made our voices heard.” – @anamariecox Yes. Yours were, but certainly not those who haven’t had the chance to say their 1st words. #Monster #RotInYourPinkShoes #tcot

  • Spasmolytic

I wonder if she has ‘tears of joy’ for this baby girl?

(I understand this is a graphic picture but its necessary to make my point)

Twenty weeks isn’t enough time to decide if you want to kill your baby?

  • Grandma HeadInjury

Must have been a shift change at Baby Killers-R-Us…er… I mean unPlanned Parenthood. We have two new trolls…

  • stellatruman

  • Kathy Fugitt Price Skaggs

I have no idea who Ana Marie Cox is but I hope I never need help from her since she would murder a full term baby for convience. There is no physicial reason for a late term abortion except to murder an unwanted baby that could survive outside of the womb and be given away. But it seems that people really, really, really want to kill babies. I think these people are sick and evil and they know it has nothing to do with women’s health, just the lack of health for the baby.

    • AdoEdem

She’s the “deep thinker” who used to run the Wonkette blog, whose 5 seconds of fame involved a blogger who went by the moniker “Washingtonienne”. Said blogger was a staffer for Senator Mike DeWine, and her blog detailed all the sex acts she was performing with low-level staffers and interns. Once she was outed, she was fired from her job. Ana Marie rode the incident into blogger prominence, but instant blogger fame was once again as fleeting as it always is.

Truthfully, the commentary on it from Ace is far more amusing than the actual events.

You can browse the “Greatest Hitjobs” on the left sidebar for more hilarious mockery of Ana Marie.

Waaaaaa! I want to have sex with anyone and then kill my baby, but they won’t let me! Waaaaaa! Waaaaa!

  • Medicinewoman2

Abortion and racism are evil twins, born of the same lie. Where racism now hides
its face in public, abortion is accomplishing the goals of which racism only once dreamed. Together, abortionists are destroying humanity at large and the black community in particular.

    Alveda King

  • Momo

Reading this woman’s tweets is illuminating. I know that in America today, many people share private thoughts and information with their ” friends and followers” with ease. There is something in her words that smacks of both incredible narcissism and an almost desperate desire to “be a part of something” as she says herself.

Her proudly trumpeting her very specific “generosity” is stomach turning enough (tweeting the proof of her donation was so self important, I’m embarrassed for her). But the pure joy and pride she takes in “women’s voices being heard” and the fact that she was crying over it, rings especially false when it is clear that she turns a deaf ear to the cries of the millions of babies (many of them female) who will never have freedom thanks to her and her abortion devotees.

What is this world coming to? If you want to feel a part of something, then go out in the world and volunteer at a food bank or visit some senior citizens or pick up some trash around your local park, but PLEASE…stop carrying the banner of abortion on demand with no limits and pretend that you care about women’s health!!!

  • ThomasCollins1

    “…being a participant in our democracy…”

Does anyone wonder why women were prohibited from participating in our republic for 120 years? Hysteria is the Greek for uterus.

  • Wally West

When Liberals protest and become unruly mob of uncivil jerks at government officials trying to pass bills. It’s democracy in action.

When conservatives do this they’re an angry, unruly mob of nutjobs stopping the voice of the people.

Double standard bull crap as always from liberals.

  • Danny Wheeler

*ugh* Sick people in this land.

I always find it interesting that when a woman wants to keep her pregnancy she refers to it as “the baby” from the get go. But when a pregnancy is unwanted, that baby is referred to as the fetus or a clump of cells. Hmmm.
