The state of our union may have taken a tumble, but through it all, gas prices persevere. Onward and upward!

No kidding.

Forward, indeed. Ugh.

Resigned to does not equal “over” high gas prices.

  • Jefferson Tea Party

Whew! Think how high it’d be if we had an oil man in the White House!

  • Drew Longview

Gas prices are one of Obama’s crowning achievements for the green movement. Too bad that will come at a dear cost to our economy. The economy will soon bottom out, the republicans and sequester will be blamed, and democrats win again.

    They are amazing.

  • RightThinking1

I do not understand all of the distress. The President has explained this to you. Gasoline prices are being driven up by the booming economy…, get it?

Sec. of Energy Stephen Chu–“…we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

  • KansasGirl

    Why would O be concerned?
The majority of his peeps don’t need gas…where they gotta go?

$4.29 in Orange Co, CA. BUT I’ll take it over the freezing weather.

  • Neil Leininger

Just wait until the GOP caves and the Oil/Gas industry see their subsidies end without a corresponding lowering of their tax rate. Oil more expensive to bring out of the ground, oil more expensive to refine, gas more expensive to buy.

    • justlittlolme

Wait until the carbon tax gets shoved down our throats sugar-coated in an Executive Order!

You guys don’t understand the learning curve of the Media.

For an entire summer the Media blamed Bush for high gas prices.
When he opened up drilling and gas prices plummeted from an average of $4.12/gal to $1.61 in just 6 months they FINALLY realized that PRESIDENTS HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE COST OF GASOLINE.

His actions on increasing supply to meet demand have no basis in economics and reality just like sarcasm has no use in getting your point across. <— click on 8 years and notice the plummet during the end of the Bush administration.

Maybe we should try price controls again, like in the ’70’s. How’d that work? Free markets determine prices. That’s what y’all want, right?
