The House GOP is under fire for scrapping the Hurricane Sandy relief bill, but a growing number of conservatives are grateful that the bill didn’t pass. Though it is ostensibly dedicated to post-Sandy relief, the bill is actually loaded with pork — lots of it.

Ace of Spades HQ blogger Gabriel Malor dissected the bill:

Many conservatives agree:

While bill may have been scrapped because of a GOP hissy fit as opposed to commitment to reducing spending:

One thing is for sure: the Sandy relief bill as is would only be a headache for American taxpayers.

“Some of the pork spending reportedly goes towards projects that have nothing to do with Hurricane Sandy or the victims, including millions of dollars for tree planting in areas untouched by Sandy and a new roof for the Smithsonian Museum.
Why was this in the emergency bill for Sandy? It doesn’t make any sense.” Only $1 out of every $6 — $9 billion of the $60 billion will be spent in 2013. That means 85 percent doesn’t come until 2014 and beyond. That’s not immediate relief. What this bill is fundamentally is a pork bill.”

Everyone remember this when Christy is acting all tough in 2016 during his Presidential run. This man is a wolf in sheeps clothing!

      Rubio/Scott 2016

      • BigE

Any ticket with Rubio for president sounds like ONE of the best choices.

I will research Scott and all other contenders in the field.

No one gets a free pass this far out in my book.

They must have integerty, ability and must not have a liberal bone in their body.

Better wait on the outcome of these “natural born citizen” clause lawsuits. They could also hit Rubio and Jendal for presidential runs.

From your mouth to God’s ears, sir. Talk about a Dream Team!

This must be the Dembeciles’ new strategy–pass important or emergency bills that are laden with pork and let the Republican House get blamed for refusing to pass them, then laugh while they get skewered by the lying cheating slimestream media that doesn’t give a crap about the truth while the stupid low-information twidiots are too busy tweeting vulgar hate-laden tweets to have time to get themselves informed of what’s really going on. I’m not letting Boehner off the hook, but I’m glad he pulled it.

Chris Shifty will never get my vote. He is cut from the same narcissim as the one we have now.

  • BeautifulAmerica

I recognize the dirty fingers of Lisa Murkowski on this piece of trash bill.

  • BeeKaaay

Sandy relief should not include giving money to cronies.

  • Tim Johns

Oh just shut up and sign the damn thing. (Insert the “you will be blamed for it” here). You gutless pansies.
