Meet Charles Ramsey, who reportedly rescued three women from an alleged captor after they had been missing for a decade. Ramsey told local and national media that he called 911 when he heard one of the girls screaming from inside the house. His televised interview has gone viral. Just one word: Wow.

They’re calling him the “Dead Giveaway Guy:”

God bless Good Samaritans.

Editor’s note: This post has been amended to reflect that the three people rescued in Cleveland are now adult women.

Holy cow, what a story. Glad the girls are alright.

      2 Timothy 3:13……….

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

    Cleveland’s answer to Antoine Dodson.

  • TomJB

Now get some rope and go back to the house…

    • wwbdinct

I don’t understand what you mean by that???

      • AWomaninTX

TomJB probably means to “take care of” the kidnapper.

        • wwbdinct

Ok thanks. That makes a bit more sense.

  • Drivingtheview

Lot of talk lately about heroes & courage. Charles Ramsey won’t be fundraising with the First Lady or fishing for a book deal. But he’s a hero who showed some courage today. Remarkable story

    • Gary Freeman

Now if Charles Ramsey came out as gay, then Michelle Obama would be declaring him a national hero. But since he’s not, his REAL heroism is ignored by the Obama’s.

      • michael s

stop being petty. i’m sure within a week the white house will call him and even make some sort of white house visit.

        • Lady 12

Shall we place bets on that? I bet they honor him as quickly as they honored Chris Kyle.

          • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

They probably will call him, if only to thank him for drawing some of the media away from Benghazi.

      • Brandon Duncan

        God you are dumb.

  • Ben Bollman

Ha, seems like a pretty decent guy.

    • Jeremy

he is quite the character in a good way.

  • lazypadawan

Attention, media: THIS guy is a hero.

    • reaganFF

YES. This area of Cleveland is known for the “mind your own” mentality. One other woman interviewed by the local news was asked what happened and said, “I heard screaming.” The reporter asked her, “What did you do?” She replied, “Nothing. I wasn’t gonna get involved or nothin’.”

The fact that he broke away from that and GOT INVOLVED speaks volumes. He really is a hero.

  • Brett McMicken

love it when there is news that lifts our spirits!

  • Brett McMicken

now, if he was only gay, he’d get a call from the president!

    • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

He won’t though, because he rescued white girls. That’s not the Obama Admin’s example of courage.

  • TJ

How many more modern day slaves are held captive in a suburban basement.

    • Brett McMicken

real life is scarier than any horror movie

      • Kenai

But…but…you are safer if you don’t own a gun.

The scariest thing was when Ramsey said he saw this man every day, doing normal stuff, and didn’t have a clue that anything was going on. And he had lived next door to him for a year. How much human slavery/trafficking is really going on in this country?

Thank God these girls escaped, but who knows what horrors they’ve endured. And countless unknown others.

    • redheadgrl

A lot of human trafficking is going on in this country – centered around international airports (Atlanta is #1) and in the suburbs.

  • tombee

    Wow. Retweet. What a story.

  • Beth Lott

This just surreal. How bizarre it must be to think you know someone and then find out something like this. I’m glad these women are free now.

  • James Rose

Be careful of the link at the WTOP post above as I was infected with Internet Security 2013 as soon a I clicked it. Their site may have been hijacked.
    Thank God they got out.
There are crimes other than Capital Murder that deserve the Death Penalty and this is one of them.

  • Sean Maloney

It’s the male version of Sweet Brown.

  • pajamakat

Yes, it’s all great and I am glad they’re safe. Why did he have to say that bit about a white girl running into a black man’s arms? Sorry, but that wasn’t necessary.

    • kilthan

Because he’s being honest about his life experiene, would be my guest. He’s nervous (obviously, being the center of attention, look at his reaction to the police siren), he might be worried he’ll get blamed for something (some people online are already trying to). If he’s from a predominately black and poor community, then his statement would make perfect sense from what he knows. What marks him is that he ACTED. he saw and heard a girl in trouble. didn’t care about the color of her skin in that moment, just that she was clearly in trouble, and he acted to help. I’m not going to hold it against him that, after suddenly being thrust into the national spot light, he’s nervous and says what was truthfully on his mind, giving us honesty, a rarity in our times.

      • pajamakat

Yes, he may be nervous. But I am tired of racism being thrown into everything. Can you imagine if a white man said that about a pretty little black girl running into the arms of a white man ?? Maybe not right away, but the MSM would be all over the comment. Like I said – everything is skin color today and it makes me sick.

        • Julie the Jarhead

          Chill, lady / dude.

          It’s a great story, and it’s a great quote.

        • Merria S

But if that was his motivation, then it is what was needed.

        • Brandon Duncan

He said but I mean he was half joking too I wouldn’t take it to serious.

    • Paladin

      Yeah, but it was funny.

  • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

I’d like to see how the left spins his comments towards the end of the interview: “Because, that girl, she’s either homeless, or she got problems, to be runnin’ into the arms of a black man”. God Bless you, Charles. You’ll probably get a lot of flack for rescuing them though, from other blacks on the left.

    • michael s

He was speaking from a historical context. I find it interesting that pettiness is being displayed here. If he was gay the white house would call him invite him to fundraise. flack from blacks on the left. a distraction from benghazi he should’ve been elected 1st black pres. like most people here would vote for him. Let Mr Ramsey get his accolades.

      • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Please point out my pettiness, Mr. Internet Policeman. If you knew how to read, I gave Mr. Ramsey his accolades. I was speaking more about you and your ilk, and how you will treat him.

  • mmoore229

Charles’ actions are admirable, and fortunate for the mainstream media, creates the distraction they were looking for this week from the Benghazi hearings.

    • Brandon Duncan

Is this the talkingt point this week “Benghazi”

  • ceemack

This is the guy we should have elected as the first black President. He wouldn’t have gone to bed while the Benghazi consulate was under attack.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    He deserves the “Drew Carey Average Hero” Award, and the MIZ AWARD #WWE for just being AWESOME! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • I M Free

This kind of neighbor we need in this country.

  • truckee22

Awesome. An ordinary guy reacting in an extraordinary circumstance, and doing the right thing.

  • Elaine

If they saw this dude everyday, why did no one question what was going on?

    • nc

That’s the really scary/creepy part. He apparently gave them no reason to be suspicious.

      • redstilettos

Apparently, he seemed like the normal Joe Neighbor. If there was ever reward money for the rescue of these ladies, I hope he gets it.

  • Matt

This man needs to join the Avengers.

  • © Sponge

Slightly racist, but he did the right thing and should be applauded for his actions, for sure.

  • tops116

    Damn, that’s awesome.

  • Commander Bill

and he was just eating ribs across the street on his porch….

  • Jeremy

what a story thankfully the girls are safe and this guy is a hero great job.

  • Jeremy

two huge thumbs up for this hero and he seems like a great guy.

  • Jeremy

    dead giveaway ha ha
