This is a story about a big company, HGTV, refusing to say whether they ban LGBT people from a TV show. They should just answer the question https://t.co/rxsbfV11mb

That was Buzzfeed Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith doubling down on the idiocy after there was righteous backlash over a hit piece Buzzfeed did on HGTV “Fixer Upper” couple Chip and Joanna Gaines. Because, icky Christians and stuff. And homophobia or something. You know, the usual ploys: Let’s attempt to accuse and shame people with smears and witch hunts. Ah, the tolerance!
No, it's about how @BuzzFeedBen and the left "normalized" Saul Alinsky tactics to the point that he can't tell tell right from wrong.
— David Steinberg (@realDSteinberg) December 1, 2016
Ding, ding, ding. And it sure isn’t the first time, as The Blaze’s Dana Loesch noted:
https://twitter.com/DanaTheBlaze/status/804328142055862272
Yep. But the Alinsky tactics? They aren’t working any longer. We are onto you, Democrats. Do you not understand that yet? Apparently not. So, we will break it down for you to explain why you will continue to be defeated. Reason number 1:
Read this entire thread and understand why journalism is in the state it's in. https://t.co/Bk4rvGwCgS

(1) Target popular couple.
(2) Fail to ascertain their views.
(3) Publish piece anyway. How is this legitimate reporting @BuzzFeedBen? https://t.co/Ffp9dwUF6f

That’s right. And that is why so many no longer trust the media one iota! Still don’t understand how and why Donald Trump won the presidential election? THAT is one of the reasons. And he knew it and called out the media for not just its bias, but its collusion and media malpractice. He continues to (rightly) do so. Guess what, journos. YOU are aiding us in proving our solid case against the media. The Fourth Estate is utterly bankrupt.
Reason number 2? What Democrat elected officials believe is actually important:
Well this is awkward. https://t.co/CYDJkWvyEJ pic.twitter.com/yfCY90Fbe4
— Jason (@jasonelevation) December 1, 2016
Wow.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't an elected official much more likely to impact your life than 2 people on HGTV?
— Physics Geek (@physicsgeek) December 1, 2016
Bingo. What the Fixer Upper couple privately believes doesn't affect me. What Keith Ellison believes might. https://t.co/VANEyJ8e4B
— Jason (@jasonelevation) December 1, 2016
Precisely. Reason number 3? Citizens spell it out: This is why Donald Trump won.

"This is why Trump won" is not just a cliche. When BuzzFeed shames people like this, their fans flock to those that BuzzFeed hates the most.

Yep. Hateful smears like those coming from Buzzfeed and its attempt to “otherize” and shame people can only help to put in motion a Donald Trump re-election already. And it will ensure more Democrat losses. Still don’t believe that? Here are 5 more reasons why that will happen.
https://twitter.com/TPCarney/status/804353259477594112
Who would you vote for? The people who loathe you or the person who fights the smears and does NOT try to shame you? We saw the results already last month.

But even worse? They STILL won’t get it through their Smarter Than You skulls. So it will continue. And will totally backfire on Democrats. Get ready for more losses, cupcakes!

Ameericans have had it with that. Enough. They are sick fed up of constantly being shamed and sneered at in contempt for simply living their lives. For simply disagreeing with so-called Social Justice Warriors, our alleged “betters.” They are so cultured and citizen of the world-y you know. Screw you, average American, for concentrating on feeding your family and making your mortgage payment paycheck to paycheck. In Ivory Tower World, that makes you racist, sexist, homophobic, a bitter clinger, an extremist, alt-right (or alt-reich for the Godwin’s Law-loving Left) and a whole bunch of other “ists” ad nauseum. Whew! We all must be so busy what with all those right wing extremist dastardly deeds. How do we even find the time to watch an HGTV show so that we can bone up on our homophobia?
This is another example, by the way, of a culture warrior's utter failure to grasp how Trump managed to convince so many voters.

Spot on. Which brings us to the always awesome Mary Katharine Ham, who totally nutshelled it:
'NAILED IT': Mary Katharine Ham nutshells Buzzfeed's HGTV witch hunt with shattering truth https://t.co/rGznPB7JXV

The result being Trump 2020?
It's like the media want to ENSURE that Donald Trump gets 8 years in office.

Keep it up, Left. The backfire is strong with this one.
