Yep. All you can keep with Obamacare are President Stompy Foot’s lies.

Sigh. Gee, we wonder why? Oh that’s right! Because @HealthCareTara, White House Obamacare flack extraordinaire, retweeted an Oliver Willis tweet mocking the GOP. Obamacare is totally awesome, you see. Critics are just whiners and totally stupid or something.

Yes, Ms. McGuinness, check this out:

Funny that. No mention of it on @HealthCareTara’s feed! Shocker.

Yep. Whatever, peasants!

Citizens ask Ms. McGuinness for help:

Ms. McGuinness is ignoring those pleas for aid. Does Ms. McGuinness pay attention to the @HealthCareGov Twitter feed either? Shouldn’t that be part of her flack-tastic job? Does she even care or is she too busy pushing out GOP insults hurled by Media Matters?

We are givers, so we will help her out. Citizens are feeling real pain due to Obamacare, Ms. McGuinness. What answers do you have for them?

And here are more people who have lost coverage due to Obamacare or who will now have to pay much higher premiums and/or deductibles:

Crickets from @HealthCareTara, who has not tweeted since her retweet of Oliver Willis’ GOP-slamming tweet. Priorities!

Bingo. Or, you know, she is “Julia” in disguise as one Twitter user recently guessed.

Will she respond to any citizens who are desperate and hurting due to Obamacare implementation? We won’t hold our breath. But, hey, keep your eyes out for more Oliver Willis retweets!

My insurance has gone up every year. Even before Obamacare. Still waiting to see how much it may jump next year.

    • nc ✓s & balances

So has mine, it has been an ongoing problem. But the “cure” is way worse than the disease. Plus, I’ve been able to compare the ObamaCare premiums and deductibles to the individual plans that my son and I currently have, and we’re still way better off (we’re grandfathered in, so we appear to be safe for now, but I take nothing for granted).

Your point is well taken, though. As bad as the ObamaCare rates are this introductory year, they can only get much worse every year from now on.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil ✓Mate

Just as the Obamacare law forces individuals to purchase policies, within the 2000+ pages it forces insurers as to what MUST be covered in every policy. The policies being cancelled do not include everything the law mandates, which the insured people were happy without. The scheme is merely to take extra money from working people and give it to non-working people so they can have “affordable” health care.

The problem is, the quality of health care will slide downward for everyone, except the very rich who can afford to pay Doctors out of pocket, even if it means flying to Bahamas or Costa Rica.

As to health insurance going up every year, you can draw a line directly from federal government involvement with Medicare in the 60s to ever increasing prices. You can’t make a procedure cost XX number of dollars just because a government bureaucrat says that’s what it costs. Health care hasn’t been a free market for decades.

The answer is less government involvement and not more.

      • fivegreatkids

Phil, we often disagree but you are spot on with this one. My family is in health care-the obamacare administrative requirements alone are going to raise medical costs through the ceiling. If the gov’t would get out of health care so many of the costs would go plummeting.

      • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (the true one)

Smaller government is the answer, not massive regulations and crushing taxation; the problems with Obamacare site are meant to occur, to encourage people to call out for it to be fixed, and move us one step closer to a one-payer system.

Also, the left will constantly demonize the problems as the fault of the Republicans; especially claiming ‘it was based on Romney care, hence it is the Republicans fault.’

      • redheadgrl

it will also be interesting to see how much premiums/deductibles increase next year (2015) as well once the actuarial tables are recalculated based on any pre-existing condition being covered.

        • The_Livewire

If by interesting you mean “Oh G_d Oh G_d Oh G_d it hurts!” Yes, interesting it will be.

Medicare and Medicare part B, my payouts for care and meds just shot up 300%, all due to Obama doing what he accused the GOP of doing gutting 50 billion from Medicare to pay for his fascist little plan..

300%,… People on Medicare are almost by definition lower income/fixed income, and when I checked before on finding supplemental prescription coverage, Ohio doesn’t allow insurance companies to sell it to people under 65…

I started my family late, I’m 54, and we have a 12 and 14 year old…. the only part of our budget big enough to cover the payouts is our grocery budget, and we’re not on EBT, so we pay cash. My wife works fulltime, at 10 an hour, I’m on SSD from a work related injury where my back was broken in two places.. and my ability to walk is growing increasingly difficult, tests galore,.. new meds, I can’t afford to pay any more..

Obama literally is stealing food from our children..

and these idiots Tara and Willis call it a sham?

F**K them.. I hope they loose all their coverage too… then maybe they’ll grow a crack in the cement filling their skulls.

    • IMPEACH_BOBO

So has mine & guess why, you are paying for the minorities who will be going on the healthcare rolls in Jan. 2014 !!! These are the exact people President BOBO wants to sign up for their free healthcare on the whites dime !!!!!

  • IMPEACH_BOBO

Wait until people realize just how RAClST this law is too !!! Who do you all think is going to pay for those 30 MILLION NEW FREELOADERS FLEEBAGGERS ( mostly minorities ) coming on the healthcare rolls, WHITES of course !!! Whites are already paying for most of the welfare, food stamps, etc. on our tax dollars !! Funny how FLEEBAGGERS like to forget that FACT too, it is the 53% of us paying for the 47%, now you take out the legit social security, vets & people like that you still have 30% which we call FREELOADERS !!!!! Now President BOBO wants to add the RAClST BOBOcare to the list of ENTITLEMENTS, NO THANKS BOBO !!!!!! You all know minorities will never see any of those fines we keep hearing about, those will be saved for whites & the businesses that refuse to join in on this RAClST law !!!!

Don’t forget either people that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT INVADERS will still be able to go to the emergency room & still get free healthcare with no fear of a fine because BOBO will not consider them citizens & therefore don’t have to have BOBO’s RAClST insurance to begin with, WTF IS UP WITH THAT BOBO !!!!!! Me & you will be on the hook for these ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT INVADERS bills too & our premium rates will go up for that too, THATS INSANE !!!!!

Don’t forget either that BOBO set this RAClST law up for minorities & the ones stuck with the bill will be whites as usual !!!! Whites have already started paying for these FREELOADERS too, thru our premium rates going up almost double what they were in 2010 !!! Before this RAClST law was passed my rates each year would go up about 3% to 5% a year, after this RAClST law passed my rates went up 15% a year, WTF IS UP WITH THAT BOBO !!!!! Now remember people, the deductibles for this RAClST law for the cheapest plan which is the bronze plan are over 5,000 dollars & for this, you get to pay a premium every week of 100 dollars, WTF !!!!! This means the first 5,000 dollars is all on you to take care of before this RAClST law will even kick in, thats INSANE !!!! All this while the FREELOADERS pay nothing & get FREE healthcare on our dime, sounds a lot like REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH if you ask me !!!!!!!

  • Phebelyn

    “Trust me”-Oliver Willis….LOL!!!

I wonder if Tara or Oliver have visited the healthcare.gov facebook site? Lots of unhappy people getting notices of higher premiums or cancellations altogether. SAD!

Nice! Didn’t even run a full season, did it? I was pretty young and just vaguely remember him blowing up an entire building with an RPG because a bad guy was in there…

        • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Actually, it ran for two seasons. The season finale of the first year was a nuclear explosion (which parodied the first-season finale of Crime Story) and the second season was blatantly “retconned,” in which season they totally disregarded any continuity from the first season.

          • The_Livewire

IIRC, that’s because they were expecting to be cancelled, then the network changed their minds.

Never heard that one, but this one is similar:

Two pseudo-intellectual Jews are having a dispute over some Talmudic interpretation, and each decide to take it to the Rabbi, without telling the other.

Steinberg shows up in the morning, goes into the Rabbi’s study, and makes his point– the Rabbi says, “Steinberg, you’re absolutely right, but don’t go to Feinberg and gloat, and tell him I told you so– just let him believe what he wants to believe.”

Feinberg shows up in the afternoon, and the Rabbi tells him the exact same thing.

That evening, after work is done, the little Yeshiva boy who’s the rabbi’s helper, and who witnessed both men speaking to the Rabbi, says, “Rabbi– what happened? You told Steinberg he was absolutely right; then you told Feinberg HE was absolutely right…”

The Rabbi tells the boy, “Moshe, you’re absolutely right– but don’t go to Feinberg and Steinberg and gloat, and tell them I told you so– just let them believe what they want to believe…”

    • TomJB

When I read of a conservative’s health care premium doubling, due to Obamacare, I feel anger.

When I read of a liberal’s health care premium doubling, due to Obamacare, I feel
    joy.

…and that about sums it up because frankly, it’s about time liberals finally learn there is no such thing as a free lunch and the umbilical cord they want connected to Washington from womb to tomb….well, SOMEONE has to pay for it.

    • Mark81150 USAF SP EST Team

Know the feeling, and hopefully, with the pain of consequences, enough of them will wake the Hell up to how badly the dems have lied to them, and have for years..

Clearly Medicare and Social Security are bankrupt or will be soon, and not having a choice, I and millions of others are dependent on them..The only answer, is to privatize them, and yes, I understand it’ll be painful in the transition, but if managed carefully, nobody will simply be dumped in the street…

and and our situation will gradually get better..

Only private companies will have the motivation to actually fix those plans, and if they get rich providing vastly better service, I fail to see anything wrong with that.. we get better coverage, better pensions, as they invest the money rather than squander it..

There are more than a few of us inside the SSD and Medicare net who WANT it to go private.. and we do try and convince others..

  • in_awe

I just went on the CoveredCA site and searched for a plan to cover a couple
aged 60 with no dependent children and moderate use of medical services during
the year (5-6 office visits each plus 1-3 continuing Rx each). The site shows
annual estimated costs of premium + deductible + co-pays.

I didn’t do an exhaustive review since my wife has an employer plan that (in
the past anyway…no telling what we’ll hear in November for 2014 coverage)
    covers us both.

Bronze – $15,082 to $19,167/yr premium + out of pocket

    Silver – $15,992 to $20,069/yr

    Gold – $17,117 to $23,216/yr

    Platinum – $18,029 to $23,810/yr

Doesn’t that seem reasonable and affordable? (/s) And since our income
exceeds the limits for subsidies this would all come out of our pocket if we
    enrolled.

Just grateful the Dems worked so hard to make it the AFFORDABLE Care Act – no telling what a monstrosity it might be if conservatives managed to have a say…/s

Can someone help me with this, because i’m not too sure. People are claiming the ACA/Obamacare will cover most people with subsidies (income up to about 44k for single, 60k for married and 100k for family of 4 for subsidies) that will cover the increases. But honestly, how true will that be and what % or so will people actually get a subsidy or what is the ratio per people getting a subsidy and paying less overall and people getting a huge rate increase to pay for it. (I’m just wondering so i can have a comeback to the liberal argument).
