Ah, yes! Another day, another round of finger-pointing and blame-gaming by the White House.

CBS’ Mark Knoller has the scoop:

When in doubt, repeat speech it out! Pivot!

Oh dear. Take a look in the ideological mirror, cupcake.

Yep.

Most transparent administration evah!

Knoller once again does the job that few in the media will do: He holds President Obama accountable for his own words and actions. Knoller tweeted a series of flashback quotes that blast the president.

Brutal.

Oh, the halcyon days of innocence.

So there’s that? Some truth for once!!

And a great exit point:

Indeed. What say you, GOP?

  • nc

BHO is probably at his weakest point since he took office. GOP, strike NOW!

    • Randy Somers

      “Strike” how?

      • nc

        Ask Ted Cruz.

        • Ziv Bnd

nc, I am afraid that our strikes in the recent past have been about as terrifying as that cute little dog in your avatar screen.

          • nc

Heh, Ziv, you don’t want to get between my little 6 pound chihuahua and her food bowl at dinner time! (j/k)

          • Ziv Bnd

LOL, I would be more afraid of irritating a 6 pound chihuahua than of crossing Boehner or the other Repub lap dogs.

    • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

The GOP are too busy bending over for him.

    • walterc

      Unfortunately, so is the GOP.

      • ObamaFail

Only the RINO’s. If we had more guys like Ted Cruz they’d be going for the jugular.

        • walterc

Actually I was referring to McConnell, Boehner, Cantor etc in leadership, and the usual RINOs.

We need more guys like Cruz, Paul, Lee, and Chaffetz etc.

          • Ziv Bnd

I agree to some extent, walter, but if we get $5 of spending cuts I would be willing to back a Republican who voted for a $1 of increased revenue. This shouldn’t be a monomaniacal pursuit of negotiating perfection. We will need to give a little, as long as amount that we give is much less painful than what we get in return. And yes I know spending has skyrocketed in the past 13 years, but we have to play the hand we have, and we have one house, they have the Senate and a feckless President.

          • BajaBert

Ziv: If I’m not mistaken virtually none of those spending cuts in trade for the concessions of “increased revenue” (i.e., tax hikes) from the time of Reagan to the present have ever been realized.

          • Ziv Bnd

Bert, our spending has been going up like a drunken sailor with someone elses credit card this past 5 years, but the 8 before that wasn’t that great either. I think Pork Busters was on it long before the Tea Party even existed. But what I was trying to say is that we need to give an inch to get a foot, so to speak. We hold just the House and if we say “our way or the highway!” we are going to lose. We can not afford to lose too many more battles.

If we get a true reduction in spending, we should be ready to give a little to get the job done. Let the dem clowns boast about getting a tax increase as long as it is a small one and the spending cuts are real. None of this “we will increase taxes now and next year we will reduce spending” sort of deals, but if the actual spending gets cut $5, we should throw $1 in increased revenue at the spendy bast***s to seal the deal.

If we win on points, we can afford to give an inch. Because if we don’t give an inch, we will get our clocks cleaned. Again.

      • AmericanMom

And the RNC. Their attempts to be democrat-lite are going over like lead balloons with the republican/conservative/independent voting base.

    • TocksNedlog

Attacking a black guy, eh? What are you, a white Hispanic?

      • therealguyfaux

Would that be a white black guy he’s attacking?
“If I had a psychotic brother who would go on a murder spree, he would look like Aaron Alexis”– haven’t heard that one yet.
Not enough racial solidarity from Super Barry-O. Must be the white half keeping him from talking about it.

      • rabidfox2

I’m only attaching his white side.

    • cscape

that’s a mistake, according to Sun Tzu…… When Hitler’s Armies invaded a weak and demoralized Soviet Red Army, it would take less than 2 years for the sleeping giant to turn the tables on them!…. the rest (as they say) is history

  • Randy Somers

Yet again, neither side sees their own baseless finger-pointing as a problem – what a blessing it would be if people would think and offer a civil and productive idea!

    • Acethepug

I’d probably lend this more credence if we didn’t have a complicit and corrupt Media that bludgeons Republicans and alternately lies about or simply doesn’t cover the same issues when they involve a Democrat.

When the Media does nothing but go after the Right (look at how they treated GW Bush) and coddles the Left (Obama, Clinton), I’m more inclined to be harder on the Party getting a free ride for their actions.

    • jetch

hardly the same. Obama and the dems are proposing more massive debt which is not only unsustainable but is wrecking our economy!! plus, Obama has said he won’t compromise on the raising of the debt ceiling. so, is it really the conservatives job to offer solutions to this problem?
every time we reach the debt limit, it gets raised and nothing changes except for the amount of debt. so maybe we try something new and not raise it!

      • BenTheGuy

I love it when they say tthe GOP won’t compromise. If the debt ceiling always gets raised, then compromise would involve not raising it. The Democrats’ idea of compromise is to let them keep doing what they always do. They are the ones who don’t compromise.

    • BenTheGuy

Give me a break. People, including Obama and the GOP are offering ideas daily. The issue is that one person’s productive idea is antithetical to another person’s. If we all agreed on what was productive, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

    • Randy Somers

      These comments prove my point:

The “massive debt” is “wrecking our economy”
Obama “won’t compromise on the raising of the debt ceiling”
The Democrats are “getting a free ride for their actions”

These generalizations use info taken out of context and skew opinions farther from the truth resulting in more partisanship. BTW, the debt would be lower if Congress would consider reasonable proposals and refrain from adding complication by mixing issues in the same bill, dooming them to failure.

  • tops116

“So Obama says Obama is a failed Leader!”

Liberals immediately denounce Senator Obama as a racist for calling President Obama a failed leader.

    • Tigerspike

Or they call him racist names.

    • SideTraKd

Don’t you know that we’re only supposed to care about fiscal responsibility when a Republican is in the White House..? When a Democrat is in, reigning in spending is the same thing as throwing grandma off the cliff.

      • rabidfox2

Although we could have used some fiscal responsibility during the Republican control of Congress under Bush. Frankly most of our current politicians are too addicted to free gubm’t money for my taste.

        • SideTraKd

I agree, but many of the loudest voices so concerned with Bush spending have fallen silent, now that Obama is spending even more.

          • Ronald Green

Yep, Bush added two trillion to the debt over eight years and Barry has added seven in five years. Two was bad enough but for crying out loud, Seven Trillion in five years and the idiot can’t see that all this new spending hasn’t helped. Well. I guess I should say ‘idiots’ ’cause all them fiscally responsible liberals are oh so silent now that it’s their side screwing it up. In truth many of them want even more spending, it’s insane.

          • SideTraKd

It’s the same thing they did to George H. W. Bush, in a way. The Democrats pushed and pushed for higher taxes, and when Bush gave in to a few minor tax increases, they complained bitterly about him breaking his “no new taxes” pledge. During the election, you would have thought that the Dems HATED taxes!

Then, when Clinton won, they immediately passed one of the largest tax increases in history.

Deception is the primary political tool of the liberal.

    • E Quilibrate

Fully expect to see that soon.

  • SJ’s Dad

  • Stephen L. Hall

    Constitutional Lesson for Mr. Obama:

    1) No Congress can be bound by the acts of a previous Congress. (The same applies to state legislatures.)

    2) Promised future spending is an illegal attempt to bind future Congresses to spend.

    3) All such promises are, de facto, meaningless. No Congress can be so obligated.

    4) Ergo, no “social contracts”, pension funds, or promises of future expenditures are legally binding.

The only thing which is morally (not legally) binding is to pay the accumulated debts, not the accumulated “liabilities” because such liabilities are unconstitutional obligations of a prior Congress.

P.S.: All appropriations bills must originate in the House, which is controlled by republicans. It is their Constitutionally mandated duty to restrain overspending by the Executive or by any previous Congress.

  • Mr_Popular

Will ObamaCare cover cloning? Specifically, cloning of Mark Knoller? We need more of him stat!

  • RightFinShark

This proves Obama is full of s**t. If someone would beat it out him, he would become transparent.

    • E Quilibrate

      We needed more proof?

  • walterc

I just don’t get the default argument if we don’t raise the limit. If I max out my credit card, I don’t quit paying my mortgage. I cut my spending in other areas and pay the mortgage, car loan etc. And I don’t ask the bank to double my limit while promising to cut 5 cents a month out of my budget. Twenty minutes and I’ll have the budget balanced, including paying the debt without incurring more. Like my household budget, it will be painful, but we’ll get through it.

    • Christian Collins

You’re using reason and logic. Anathema to statists and leftists of all parties. (repeated myself, didn’t I)

. . . you failed to factor in your ‘entitled’ neighbor, who is due their ‘fair share’ from your monthly paycheck, and as you attempt to cut your expenses, their allotment, and your mandated obligation to them, steadily increases.

    • E Quilibrate

Actually I prefer to think of him as the person who currently occupies
the office of the president. Can’t get my head around him even acting
      presidential.

  • arttie

A reckless and feckless president Obama is.

  • ObamaFail

Obama’s reckless behavior and spending is why we keep having a debt ceiling crisis every time we turn around. For him to blame Republicans for his refusal to allow them to get the budget under control is a sign of weakness on his part. It shows he’s too weak to admit to his own failures. And as Mark Knoller pointed out, in Obama’s own words it shows a failure of leadership on Obama’s part that this keeps happening every year.

WhoDat or someone will come here and blame the GOP for Obama’s failures, but they have compromised multiple times and let him raise the debt ceiling a few times and raise taxes twice this year alone. We need a balanced budget, and without one we will be hearing about the debt ceiling in another year or so.

  • TocksNedlog

And WHAT, pray tell, does this mean?
Well, it means that in 2006 Sen. Obama was lying for the sake of displaying opposition to a Republican administration, that’s all. He never really meant it.

  • BrotherMatthias

The March 16, 2006, speech by Obama on refusing to raise the debt limit has magically disappeared from YouTube.

Shorter Obama: It’s different when *I* do it.

Really, that’s all that needs to be said.

Morals, ethics, intellectual honesty? Not for the Left. Pretty much everything they complained about GW Bush doing has magically and mystically become awesome now that Boss Obama is doing it.

But for Double Standards, the Left would have no standards at all.

Obama claimed he would “restore our reputation worldwide”. Instead, he’s embarassed our nation on the international stage more often than Jimmy Carter.

Obama claimed he would run the most transparent administration ever. Instead, his government’s shadows run longer and broader than those cast by Richard Nixon.

Obama claimed he would fix the economy. Instead, with workforce participation at record lows and full-time employment crashing, he’s got his head stuck deeper in the economic quicksand than Herbert Hoover.

Obama claimed he would be the great uniter. Instead, no president has been as divisive since James Buchanan. And we all know how that ended.

He has been historic. And not in the ways he and his sycophants imagine him to be. This is the worst presidency in history. Whoever replaces him will have a huge mess to clean up.

Karl Rove is still telling GOP “leadership” how to roll. He/they represent the LOSING,ballooning, corrupt federals in DC. They (across party lines) get rich, their campaign donors get richer, and Kstreet welcomes them to continue the cycle of ruining small business and the middle class. Any politician, PAC, corporation–including the non-conservative FOX news; that listens to or fronts Rove, et al–are NOT for we, the people. Name one exemption, bailout, federal program that has put taxpaying middle class first. None?

What good will come of voting R instead of D if this cycle of cronyism continues? Leadership is the courage to make the hard decisions of cutting spending, protecting the middle class, enabling job growth, restrict lobbying, term limits, energy independence..protecting and serving America and it’s citizens–First, foremost !

  • travis690

What are the odds that Obama will remember what he said then, and compare it with what he says now?

Answer: Between slim and none. And slim has already left town.

For a person who never made his own decisions about where to invest his own money in his lifetime, I want to know what qualifies him, from an economic standpoint, to make decisions about where to invest my money?

The answer to this is the difference between economics and politics. Economics is describing who gets what; Politics is describing who DECIDES who gets what. And political decisions are always the wrong ones, because the person making the decision is never responsible to whom s/he makes the decision on behalf of.
