Wait, what? The “tolerant” aren’t really tolerant? Who’d have thunk it!

Comedian and actor Michael Ian Black trolled Twitter last night. Naturally, he chose to do so by posing a same-sex marriage opponent. Have to mock those bitterly clinging rubes!

Then, reality set in. Who are the intolerant ones? Sadly (and hilariously) many didn’t comprehend the fact that the comedian was, well, trying to be a comedian.

And then the attacks came.

Keeping it classy as always, huh, tolerance brigade? Also, try turning off the bitter once in a while. and then maybe sarcasm will be recognized. In the meantime, these folks will try to explain the epic “duh” to you.

And something for Mr. Black to consider, before he slams “founding father fetishization” and gun rights supporters again.

Yep. Funny, that.

If you’re too stupid to realize that he is being sarcastic with those tweets, you’re definitely too stupid to weigh in on matters of the Supreme Court.

Or to even vote. I am constantly unsurprised by the number of people who don’t recognize satire when they see it.

      • RblDiver

Indeed. I’d love to have a requirement that you be able to pass a basic citizenship test in order to vote, with retesting requirements every, say, 10 years.

        • DixieAngel_76

And an IQ test wouldn’t hurt either.

I didn’t see recognize satire just the other day. I slipped on it and had a terrible fall.

        • Clayton Grant

That was you who fell on me?

          • Canis Dirus

Sorry. I forgot to take off my clown shoes again.

      • Jake_Was_Here

Satire that’s trying to work in THEIR favor, no less.

They’re so conditioned to lash out at anything that even has the APPEARANCE of disagreeing with their agenda, they blindly spew obscenities and , um, “tolerance.” In doing so, they reveal their unbridled ignorance to everyone.

      • BigSky1970

        Bingo!

      • janerator

AMEN! They are some of the most unhappy people on the face of the earth. Even when they win…they’re angry and unhappy.

    • jmz

remember libs are ignorant reactionaries. they only preach tolerance for the mindless followers, when someone steps outside the ranks and challenges them(even as a joke like MIB) they cant handel it and have no choice but to throw tantrums like we see… MIB just got a new follower.

    • DixieAngel_76

      Amen!

  • Garth Haycock

Nothing is more entertaining than the intolerant leftist regressives who react to a comment with which they disagree.

    • marylandman

      You misspelled progressives.

      • Garth Haycock

        No, I labeled them correctly.

        • marylandman

          You misspelled incorrectly.

who the *^&$ are you, Ogden Nash*? jk 😛

More Ogden Nash than Dr. Seuss, Patrick.

I have heard of Mr. Black before and I may have typecasted him as a Libtard. Now, I am pretty sure he is liberal but atleast he ‘gets it’ on some level. So for that I applaud him

    • marylandman

Yeah, he gets that bigots who oppose marriage equality are idiots, so he ridiculed them and their terrible logic. He gets it.

  • Jim

My favorite is the people who say “I always thought you were unfunny, but now that I know you disagree with me I’m unfollowing you.” A little peek into the leftist mindset there: any celebrity can get support and promotion from liberals, no matter how untalented they are, as long as they toe the leftist line.

    • marylandman

It isn’t about a “disagreement.” If Michael Ian Black said that he wishes taxes were lower, I doubt people would unfollow him. Same sex marriage is a civil rights issue. People who oppose marriage equality are bigots who are actively seeking to deny equal rights in America. It is about much more than disagreeing. It’s about standing up for what’s right.

      • Jim

That’s a nice rationalization for trying to shut up dissent. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

        • marylandman

Why do conservatives insist on free speech for ONLY themselves? You guys think that freedom of speech means you can say what you want with impunity. You can say what you what, but when “leftys” respond, they’re “trying to shut up dissent.” Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of repercussions for that speech. If you want to be a bigot, then I get to call you a bigot. That’s how our country works. What a surprise that you’re another conservative who doesn’t understand the First Amendment.

          • Jim

Your entire comment stated that there was no room for disagreement. You even put the word in quotes, implying that disagreement doesn’t exist. That’s the definition of trying to shut up people who have a different opinion than you. And I never mentioned freedom of speech, I’m talking about the free marketplace of ideas, where people should be allowed to voice their disagreement without being attacked.
How about this? It’s my opinion that abortion restricts an unborn baby’s basic human right to life, so now the issue is no longer up for discussion, because I’ve declared it’s about Human Rights, not “disagreement”. Therefore it’s a civil rights issue, and anyone who’s pro-choice is wrong, because I say so, and I’m standing up for what’s right.

          • marylandman

Funny how you STILL misunderstand the First Amendment. That was the point of my comment and you just proved me right. The First Amendment does not protect you from being “attacked” after you voice your opinion. Now, it’s my opinion that the fact you think you’re being “attacked” shows that you have very thin skin (a common conservative trait demonstrated best by Donald Trump). I’m not “attacking” you when I call you a bigot for opposing same sex marriage. If you don’t want to be called a bigot then don’t be a bigot. Don’t be mad at ME that you’re a bigot. Be mad at your parents for failing to raise you properly.

You can say whatever you want about abortion because this is a free country. I’ll disagree with you and call you an idiot (which you are) but what I wont do is say “You’re trying to shut up dissent.” You know why? Because I understand the First Amendment.

  • Jack Deth

Gays should be allowed to marry.

As long as one of them is male and the other is female.

Neither is going to produce progeny, anyway.

    Problem solved.

This actually approaches edgy and dangerous comedy from a 21st century comedian!

It’s funny because the Left doesn’t understand satire.

  • SpinMeNot

What I don’t get is how granting special rights to a small segment of the population prevents said segment of the population from finding love. Obviously, love is a big part of a healthy marriage, but what the hell !?

Oh wait, what they love is destroying the Holy Sacrament of Marriage and forcing acceptance of their perversions onto society as a whole.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=720530366 Jason Jones

lol pro gay marriage supporters certainly are a hateful bunch. Verbally attacking someone just because they have a different opinion makes you seem like the intolerant hitler wannabe rube.

  • Barack Hussein Sharpton

Pretty sure that Michael Ian Black was raised by two women, his mother and her lesbian lover.

  • Josh

This was a hilarious exchange. MIB is very random, and it was great seeing him troll a bunch of ‘tolerant’ idiots. It takes two seconds to wiki him and find out he’s not being a hater before all those people went on a tirade. Hive minds are fascinating.

  • Marie

Marriage is NOT love! You can love someone without being married to them! There are no laws or restrictions against loving anyone! WTF is wrong with these people?

  • Wiki David

Hey Mikey! You know your followers are this stupid. Or do you just depend on it?

  • moonsbreath

If “Gays” are people who just want to marry the person they love, then why are they calling it “Gay Marriage” and not just “Marriage?”

  • MissDiane47

I surely hope Michael understands what conservatives have to contend with when it comes to a progressive’s definition of “tolerance.” They throw temper tantrums at anyone and everybody who has opposing views – especially when it comes to gay marriage.
