Yes.  Yes, he did. The “he” was Reverend Fred Lucas, senior pastor at the Brooklyn Community Church. He was giving the invocation at  Bill de Blasio’s mayoral inauguration.

Assemblywoman Betty Ann Canizio was offended:

She was not the only one:

Welcome to the Bill de Blasio administration. Too bad Marion Barry lives in Washington DC. He would fit right in.

I worry for N.Y.C. future here, this guy is RAClST against whites & needs to be called out on it, NOW !!! You can’t let something like this slide or the crime rate in N.Y. will go thru the roof again like it was when the RAClST Mayor Dinkins was in office !!! Remember what this RAClST did when a group of bIack youth went thru Central Park trying to make victims of 20 or so mostly white people & [email protected] a white woman jogger & beat her face in with a brick, Dinkins called that ” WILDING ” !!! I am afraid N.Y. needs to get ready to relive these days again, what DeBlasio was saying in his inauguration is he is going to be just as RAClST as Dinkins was !!!! You can kiss stop & frisk good bye & just watch the crime rate creep right back up again !!!

Truth is, this mayor never hid who he was, much like Wright never hid who he was. Obama acted stunned by Wright, but that is ridiculous. Like Wright or not, he blasted from the pulpit for years. This radical mayor was clear who he intended to punish.

Is it possible this guy is taking a captive audience moment to point out the very mindset we accuse these people of having? He called it a plantation because the Democrats treat their constituents as if they were slaves in body as well as mind?

You know to be honest, if anyone treated NYC like a plantation it was Bloomberg. He was no conservative. He only listed himself as a Rep to ride Giuliani’s goodwill after 9-11 into Gracie Mansion. Then he revealed that he was just another would be tyrant.
So maybe this guy is trying to use the speaking appearance as a Wake Up moment.

    • kanenas101

Bloomberg was a nanny stater but there were policies even he would not pursue, such as tax hikes for the rich. Of course, it could have been self serving, but it was reported that only 40k people pay half of NYC tax revenue as of 2009.

If “Kaiser Wilhelm” (I love the above poster’s use of that) raises taxes on these people and even a handful leave, the city will have a serious problem.

Keep all of your good liberal ideas in your city, non negotiable. Bloomberg fell on his face and left office about a billion poorer but I would say if anyone could get the liberal agenda pushed over state lines it would have been Bloomberg and you De Blasio are no Bloomberg. WILL THIS MAN RECIND MAYOR LOONBERG’S BIZARRE PROCLOMATIONS? I doubt Mayor Loonberg’s successor will tamper with any of these edicts as its pretty obvious they were ‘agenda driven’ and contribute in a bigger way than New Yorker’s would suspect to the ‘re-engineering’ of America. They fairly drip with socialistic-Marxist ‘ iintent required for the ‘control of the masses.’ Loonbergs little nips at the heels of ‘freedom’ were meant mostly as an experiment to see if the liberals were at the stage (comparable to the semi-hard ball stage as they say in confectionary) where they could even get by with these outwardly innocuous laws. No, I thing they are a sort of ‘training wheels’ for the full blown, crushing state intrusions soon to emerge from out of the putrid bowels of ObamaCommieCare. If NYC elected Loonberg, would have considered Wiener (a mental case married to a woman that is even scarier than he), it’s clear they want, even seek out ‘bondage’ and NYC certainly nurtures a segment of population into THAT. Also, This new Mayor is about as conservative as Fidel Castro in his heyday, so I wouldn’t expect the saner residents of NYC to openly flaunt their ‘Big Gulp’ prohibition at the juncture. Anyway, the liberals in NYC are systematically beating back their ‘poors’ to the very edge of the Atlantic, including their artsy fartsy’s (who now whimper about it, too late) who will all be living in Hoovervilles at the shoreline before long. Especially since we are now getting a sense of ‘What Is In The Bill.’ I think De Blasio will add more no no’s of his own, because that’s what liberals do. They follow their manual, Rules For Radicals, (I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep an at-a-glance copy in their vest pockets) and just keep piling on one crippling, freedom crushing assault on the U.S. Constitution, one after another, keep adding people onto the spirit and self pride crushing dole queue, keep appointing yet one more radical Judge to insure their heinous laws survive and that ‘we the people’ are forced to accept and follow Obama’s path set for us which he repeatedly telegraphs to his murky, nameless, faceless base (those same mysterious cult followers who wrote ObamaCare and who remain anonymous): “…because I refuse to go back.” But that is apparently just fine and dandy with NYC.

  • DwellsInFire

“I am a proud liberal” says Darren Cohen in a comment. Yuck. And he calls the Mayor’s speech embarrassing? That’s the most disgusting comment right there. Are liberals so unaware of how filthy the word “liberal” sounds, and that they’re announcing to the world they’re stupid and irrational when they make a statement like that? Nothing to be proud about being a liberal. That’s something to be ashamed about.

See, deBlasio, AKA Kaiser Wilhelm, has it knocked, if only he and NYers realized it– he can shake everyone down with the specter of the NYC of the 1970’s by saying he’ll never let it get THAT bad, ever again, but, “Ya gotta make it worth my while, y’unnerstand?” Not necessarily in the personal fortune department (though I doubt they’ll ever hold a benefit dinner to save him from penury). I was thinking more along the lines of how he’ll spread it around the way James Walker is reputed to have done in the 1920’s, this time not with Tammany Hall regulars, but with the Radical Chic Mau Mau crowd.

It will be interesting to see if venality rears its ugly head, as it always does in municipal politics in this country.

I guess I’m not understanding the ruffled feathers. No one owns the definition of plantation (if they’re being offended because of the usual connection to that word), just as no one owns the definition of slavery (example: In the context in which Palin used it to describe debt). Only those who are looking to be offended will be so by choosing to permanently adhere the word “plantation” to a dark time in our history.

Case in point; the “State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations”. When it was so named it was because the word “plantation” in England was synonymous with “colony”.

Still, you cannot let slip the fact that “plantation”, in modern political parlance, has a coded meaning of racism and exploitation. Let’s not be naive to the fact that the “right reverend” above was making such a loaded reference. He was sounding a dog whistle.

  • Watcher3568

I’m dying here… please stop.. This is absolutely hysterical to friggen funny..LMFAO NYC voters got what they voted for and this is only the first day.. Ya can’t make this stuff up really.. Stay tuned more to come lol

  • right_on

NYC…you should embrace Black Liberation Theology, and prove once and for all, that …? Well, I don’t know what it will prove. Nor do I know what this socialist, De Blasio “ruling” the huddled masses will prove, either. At any rate, good luck. You deserve what you opted for.

Over-reach. Ever since President Narcissus won, the Left has been pushing hard. The crushing defeat of GLAAD after they attacked Phil Robertson is only the first real push back — there will likely be more.

To those in NYC that voted for de Blasio, I hope you get what you voted for, good and hard. You asked for it, you got it.

And let’s hope the rest of the country pays close attention to the new future-Detroit and its fate.

As I told my fried the day after Obama was first elected: “This is what you want, this is what you get…” Enjoy, NYC!

  • Don Turco

It is a Plantation, they have taxed the middle class so bad in NYC and Nazi Jersey that all those people do is work to pay their taxes. Then you add the enslavement to the new life time tax. Obamacare and the rape and pillage of the NYC Middles class is complete.

  • Michelle ✓classified

Whoa – this guy is proving to be a hardcore idiot from the very get go. Just saw a news article of him stating one of his priorities will be tackle “economic inequality” and his method of doing that will be to heavily tax the rich. I’m not familiar with how things work in NYC, but I do know here in Los Angeles, a Mayor has absolutely NO authority to raise taxes – that’s within the City Council to do.

Go ahead nimrod, tax the rich and they’ll move away. Step by step elected idiots in that city are destroying it. Banning things left and right, putting people out of business, becoming Extreme Nannies and now going after the rich?

They are sofa king stupid. An example being, New York has decided to rely heavily on high taxes on cigarettes to fund medication for those suffering from AIDS, and yet NYC bans smoking in addition taxes so high, they have the highest cost-per-pack in the nation (I believe around $12?). So with continuing to raise taxes on cigarettes so folks can’t afford them AND banning smoking in the city AND with Bloomberg also passing a law cigs can’t be displayed at eye level….WHO is going to pay for the medicine?

I used to LOVE going to NYC, have been there many times and it’s a special place because my cousin died there, but I really don’t see myself ever visiting again in light of all the rules, laws, regulations, banning and taxing.

That city has become the exact thing our Founding Fathers gave their lives to resist. Good luck NYC – you’re gonna need it.

    • liberalssuck

I do not wish them luck. I tell them to enjoy what they have brought forth and when they complain, I just laugh and say you did it to yourselves.

      • Michelle ✓classified

Not all who live there voted or asked for this type of local government, so I’m not so quick to sit back and laugh at them all. I understand this firsthand because I live in Los Angeles and myself endure a local government I neither asked nor voted for. So not all residents of a city “did it” to themselves.

        • liberalssuck

Ok fair enough, then get out and leave them to it. It would seem these folks are out numbered and have zero chance of changing this. I know work and all that but you can change the physical location and still work there.

  • lillymckim

As in Detroit welcome to ruin… you voted for him.

  • Josh Kingsley

He’s right. It is a plantation. And the masters are the members of the liberal socialist Democrat party.

    • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

CLARIFICATION:The Masters of the “Urban Plantations” are Liberal Democrat “Machine” Politicians, Mob Bosses, Union Bosses, and Community Organizers….And not just in New York City and Detriolet, but Chiraq, Boston, Philly, Newark, Buffalo, Cleveland, and many other Cities… It’s up to US CONSERVATIVES who need to TAKE THESE CITIES BACK, with a little good old-fashioned Education to these people about what they’ve been voting for all these years! • Dennis the Dreamer

    NYC plantation of Liberalism maybe.

  • Callawyn

The whole point of the Democrap Party is to trap people on Uncle Sam’s Plantation where they are then obliged to continue voting D in order to keep receiving the handouts that they live on.

The liberals that voted this communist in as Mayor of NY are no different. They all voted for him hoping he’d take more from ‘the rich’ and give it to them. They are all voluntary slaves on the plantation of NY. They are slaves of the Democrap Party.

The only people in NY that have a right to be offended by this are those who work, rather than vote, for a living and, even then, only if they bothered to turn out to vote against him.

They have been for a long time. NY used to be the most populous state in the country. They lost that title to California around 1970. Then fell behind TX in 2000. And they are within spitting distance of being overtaken by FL.

  • Dawn McColm

150 years ago 360,000 Union soldiers died to free the slaves. 280,000 soldiers were wounded. 150 years later blacks are still playing the victim, race, and white guilt card. They take no responsibility for the depravity of their culture. Unless they wake up, 150 years from now the rest of humanity will have moved on, but blacks will still pretend to be chained to the plantation.

  • © Sponge

Cleric Fred Lucas Jr., calling NYC a plantation in his “prayer” is a disgrace! Isn’t this supposed to be a day of uniting?

NOTHING that has anything to do with liberals, ever, is “uniting.” Get that straight. Nothing. Ever.

  • TruDat

Elections have consequences; good luck NY City. And congratulations to all those cities who will be the recipients of NY City’s wealthy when they all move out.

  • Arkuy The Great

The only Northeast city I am aware of that can rightly be called a “plantation” is Providence, RI. Interestingly, the RI wiki page mentions a state-wide ballot motion in 2009 to remove “Providence Plantations” from the state’s official name and that it was voted down by a nearly 4-1 popular vote margin. So much for the word being an oblique reference to slavery in the minds of the Northeast.

  • ToyZebra

The FDR bible de Basio was sworn in on disappeared for a few hours. Considering such a historical item should have been watched every second, I have to assume someone intended to steal it or destroy it.

  • John Kerry’s Forehead

Oh, so now the word Plantation is racist and off limits? Do people when understand context, can they even comprehend a full paragraph any more, or has public school become that bad? Don’t act so shocked by the way this scumbag ends up ruling NYC back into the slum days. He was pretty transparent during his campaign, the MSM just failed to report the truth, as they continue to do in an attempt to do anything to keep Conservatives out of office. You get what you vote for and you vote for crap when you fail to do your own research on candidates and history. MSM does not vet liberal candidates…they simply lie about the Conservative ones.
