Unlike many in the GOP, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is willing to speak bluntly and honestly about the Gang of Eight’s amnesty proposal.

Of course, he is absolutely right. It is 1986 all over again. And if the Gang of Eight bill passes, the low-wage-worker lobby will be pushing another amnesty proposal down our throats 20-25 years from now.

Twitter users welcomed Cruz’s candid assessment:

It’s not surprising that we are beginning to see tweets like these:

Keep telling it like it is, Sen. Cruz.

How exactly does Marco Rubio say they want to secure the borders first, and then vote against the Thune amendment which would have gone some way in doing that.

    • Clete Torres

Because they – including Rubio – really don’t give a rat’s ass about the borders.

      That’s how.

Rubio has flip-flopped more than a letter on the Wheel of Fortune

        ha ha funny and true.

Heard him on Rush today, he is everything we wanted Marco Rubio to be and more. He is right, we need to get on the horns and call our elected officials and tell them we are against this. We need to demand that they vote this monstrosity down.

Here is audio of Cruz with Rush today ….

Ted Cruz has PRESIDENT written all over him … CRUZ 2016!

    • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

As much as I would love for him to run in 2016, I think him being born in Canada may be a problem.

      • Clete Torres

Birth in a foreign nation wasn’t an issue for the candidates in 2008…

        Yeah, I went there.

        • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

Well, unfortunately we don’t get the same leeway that Democrats do. We have to actually follow the law.

          • Clete Torres

            I know, I was being semi-facetious.

          • Elaine

BUT Obama’s presidency has set a new “precedent.” You can’t question a candidate’s birth place. All Cruz would have to do is produce a short form birth certificate from Alaska. They can’t have it both ways. Well, let me rephrase that. They should not be able to have it both ways. We already have foreign nationals running our country just by virtue of their illegal votes!

          • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

Which would be true if we were held to the same standard as liberals. I would love for Cruz to run if he could get past the eligibility requirements but I don’t see it happening.

My kids are American by birth, but their mother is a Filipina. Had we had them overseas instead of here, they would still be Americans because I am American by birth.

So why isn’t he considered to be a naturalized American citizen? His mother was also American by birth.

          • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

They are citizens but don’t they have to have two American parents to be naturalized if born out of the country?

Maybe to Twitchy readers, but to the general population he is way too far-right and polarizing.

Congress’ behavior again demonstrates the definition of insanity: going through the same actions repeatedly and expecting different results.

    • DaPicayune

Yep, it was a Dem Shamnesty in ’86, and it’s the same rotten, lying Dem deal now.

Tell’em, Ted, they already got their Amnesty in ’86, and until they honor the terms of that one, “closed borders”, no new deals are possible. Next Bill, please.

  • eeddggy

Ted, you are our voice. Please don’t turn into a Benedict Rubio.

Time is The only Guarantee that we have that the border will be secured.

Only after we’ve seen this take place can we even consider proceeding.
