As Twitchy reported earlier this evening, people have been shooting guns in the city of Baltimore to celebrate the Ravens’ victory in the Super Bowl. We are now seeing reports of large, unruly crowds in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood.

Marion Barry quoted as saying: “Cool with me, flipping cars rocks! Speaking of rocks…”

    That didn’t take long!

Your team just won the Super Bowl, what are you going to do now? I’m so happy that I’m going to start some fires, turn over a few cars, and break some windows. Woo-hoo!

I think I might have more respect for Muslims who overturn cars when someone insults Mohammad/Islam than these fools.

imagine the USA where people get this excited when the government takes away their freedoms instead of the stupid super bowl

    • James Tomlin

Not gonna happen tese people are smart enough to care about real freedom

      • Chris Jones

Which freedoms would those be? To clarify you don’t think the federal government has overstepped it’s bounds during this administration?

As a Ravens fan in the suburbs of Bmore, I was joking earlier that if we won, I was going to drive downtown and loot me a new flatscreen. Kidding of course.

Hopefully the “gun shots” were fireworks -as I’ve also heard reported, and the Federal Hill “riots” (which, if you know Baltimore, you already know is laughable) are really just the planned street parties of the upper middle class hipsters that dominate that neighborhood.

I wouldn’t over-react at this point. Had they said “rape-free zones” had been setup, however…

    Yay, we won, let’s riot!
    Boo, we lost, let’s riot!

Why do people want to riot?

Does anyone NEED to congregate in this fashion despite their right to free assembly? I think Congress needs to act now and pass laws restricting the right to gather publicly. No one needs to in this day and age, we have the internet. The bILL of Rights was written so long ago, it’s no longer relevant to day. Think about the shopkeepers and damaged vehicles!

Is this part of the NFL Play 60 program?

If you look in that first image, you’ll see a microwave news broadcasting vehicle with its mast raised. Here’s that same news vehicle in the aftermath:
