Heh.

The House Oversight Committee IRS hearing got off to a start this morning with Rep. Darrell Issa noting that transcripts of interviews with Lois “Plead the Fifth” Lerner didn’t make it to everyone on the committee in a timely manner.

How soon does Issa want that information?

Keep on playing games. What a crock.

These hearings would be much more useful if, instead of bureaucrats and lawyers, they heard testimony from people who were harassed and punished by the IRS for the crime of opposing the regime.

Then different hearings would have to be called, because the current hearings have nothing to do with harrassment or punishment by IRS so any testimony would be out of order.

I wish he hadn’t let her go. She should have had to sit there and plead the fifth to every single question they wanted to ask.

Naw, that would have been spun by the liberal media as being a woman beater. And that, rather than the actual malfeasance, would be the news.

This way she’s on the record having improperly taken the 5th (imo) and subject to recall, with a requirement to answer questions put to her.

Also gives time to work a conditional immunity deal, perhaps.

      • Jennifer

I see your point, and I like your optimism. My blood was boiling watching her sit there so smugly. Let’s hope you’re right and there’s a method to the madness.

She waived her right to the 5th by answering a question. He can hold her in contempt now.

If I remember correctly, asking Lerner to confirm the report from the IG was right out of an old Quincy episode.

Too funny…this Shulman guy is getting all indignant at being questioned over his political affiliations. Quick, ask him for hard copies of his facebook posts!

    • ObamaFail

And what the contents of his prayers are!

    • CHHR

and book reports on everything he reads… oh wait, don’t think that will work… one must FIRST read!

    • gekkobear

If we call him a “co-conspirator” we can use the DoJ to hack all his electronic communications in secret and see what he’s hiding.

Then, so long as we don’t actually prosecute him, everything is good and no harm is done.

What? It worked with Rosen, isn’t that the way the law works?

Bunch of hypocrites, do as I say, not as I do! Intellectual midgets can’t handle power, they usually abuse it. Oblamer is a fine example.

@PressSec #IRS Time for a Special Prosecutor. Everyone is lying, obfuscating, covering ass, covering up, and lawyering up. It’s time for a trial.

Great. Now maybe we can clear up that cloud over the Vice-President. Oh wait…

      • JustLikeAnimals

One miracle at a time. =)

    When the American people go to the mid-term elections next year;
they MAY have forgotten about Obama directing the IRS, Benghazi, DOJ spying…
    guffaw

This scandal is So BIG, that NONE of the “Witnesses” should be allowed to plead the fifth! Did Nixon’s people get that courtesy during Watergate? Or better yet…JUST PUT THE IRS OUT OF BUSINESS! Jawamax 8<{D} #RightWard

With all the clamming up, lying, and covering up, Boehner needs a call for a Special Prosecutor with subpoena power and grand jury authority in order to get to the bottom of this.
