Commentary editor John Podhoretz deleted his Twitter account on Wednesday after he satirically threatened to neutron bomb New York University’s School of Journalism over the hiring of Lauren Duca and Talia Lavin:
Update: 20% of my NYU course grade will now be earned by getting John Podhoretz to delete his account pic.twitter.com/3zVZ0r0GZb

Podhoretz wrote, “I regret my attacks on Lauren Duca and Talia Lavin, which were unprovoked and therefore entirely unseemly. I wholeheartedly apologize to them.”
Full apology here:
Podhoretz posted this apology after deleting or deactivating his Twitter account. Something he has done at least three times in the past two years. @chick_in_kiev says she doesn’t accept his apology. pic.twitter.com/LqTCxvS8Oa

A comms staffer at Twitter confirmed that he was not suspended over the tweet:
Hi. He deactivated his own account. Nothing done by us.

And Lavin isn’t accepting it:
I don’t accept the apology of a man who will neither recognize nor atone for his rank, abusive misogyny. Stay gone, Podhoretz. https://t.co/55Q8hyktux

Lauren Duca doesn’t seem to like it very much either:
