Meet Mike Grella, “Amazon Director of Economic Development Public Policy.” Mike is very, very unhappy with the Washington Post’s coverage of his boss, Jeff Bezos. What’s funny, of course, is that the “experts” he dunks on over at the Washington Post have the same boss as he does:
“Experts” say following Bezos’s jet may reveal #HQ2 winner… the finalists are apparently Davos (WEF), Sun Valley (Allen & Co.), Rome (vacation), & Hollywood (Oscars). In other news Google, FaceBook, Tesla moving HQ to Black Rock Desert, NV #BurningMan https://t.co/eaWmyv6YHF

And here he is angry at leaks in a different Washington Post article that said the company is close to naming Arlington, VA as its 2nd headquarters:
Memo to the genius leaking info about Crystal City, VA as #HQ2 selection. You’re not doing Crystal City, VA any favors. And stop treating the NDA you signed like a used napkin. https://t.co/wqrZLqr8MQ

So, the story is true, right?

First up for Amazon if they do set up in Arlington: learn that Crystal City is not its own town https://t.co/7FJuFFcmN7

This suggests the leaks to the Post are accurate, and that maybe they've hurt Crystal City https://t.co/5DJdb9JVGj

Why do Amazon execs hate the press we wonder?
Hear me out, maybe some people in Crystal City are wary of an Amazon HQ because they're worried (for good reason!) that Amazon might ruin their hometown, and it's actually a good thing for the residents there to be able to talk about it. Maybe??? https://t.co/aOGUUvP9yC

Self-awareness? ZERO:

And it doesn’t even make much sense:
"And that's why Amazon decided not to take hundreds of millions in, basically, bribes to set up a massive lobbying shop next to the Pentagon, but instead located in Dubuque—because someone couldn't keep their mouth shut." https://t.co/pfFmpCzoMf

"Letting people know a couple of weeks ahead of time about our locked-in plans to grotesquely disfigure their civic life and siphon away their public resources just isn't the done thing in the major leagues"—the big-time city slicker from Seattle https://t.co/pfFmpCzoMf

Oh, it will be fun if Amazon does make the move in Virginia:
I hope Virginia-area reporters are excited about covering Amazon!
