Pres. Obama pays his respects to coaching legend Dean Smith; Tweeters still waiting for a statement on Chris Kyle

Sad news in the world of sports as it’s been reported that legendary former North Carolina basketball coach Dean Smith has passed away at the age of 83:

President Obama, who awarded Smith the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013, released this statement commemorating Smith, calling him a “gentleman and a citizen”:
