President Barack Obama is showing his willingness to compromise on the fiscal cliff by preemptively blaming Republicans’ “conscious choice” to let taxes on the middle class go up. In a Tuesday afternoon tweet — 20 days before the so-called fiscal cliff — President Obama blamed Republicans for something that hasn’t happened yet.

Obama then linked to his campaign website where a letter from Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s former campaign deputy manager, encourages citizens to “pick up the phone” to help the President’s fiscal cliff campaign.

Is the campaign over yet? Well, some Tweeters called him out.

Thank you, Senator Rubio! Where are the other GOPers calling out the President?

  • conservativechick

What a piece of work. How did he ever get elected again?

    • Libs_R_Wrong

He got voted in by people dense enough to believe he won’t turn on them too. Now that he’s elected, he figures all bets are off and gotta have equal-opportunity suffering going on.

    • fuskiegirl21

power grab just like in Egypt unfortunately we can’t hang him in Tarir Square.

  • Joseph Phillips

Such a kind, caring, bipartisan president that isn’t an arrogant ass… said no one ever.

  • stuckinIL4now

This is Baraka’s point. This is all he wants. In fact, it’s all the Dembeciles want. IL Sen Dick lyin’ sack’o’Durbin even said on one of the Sunday shows that the point is to have Republicans blamed for it all. The Dems don’t care about jobs or the country or any of us. All they want is to steamroll the other side and they don’t care how they do it or who they hurt in the process–including all of us, whether Rep or Dem. And libturds are too stupid to figure it out.

    • Streetiebird

Republicans don’t want to allow the massive tax cuts for the rich to expire, they would rather have the middle class pay for their debt. I’ve heard them talking a lot about taxing the poor lately, under the code words “Broaden the base”.

Hmm. . . now I know this is kind of out there, but . . . do you think part of the solution may be NOT SPENDING AS MUCH???

        ;- }

        • Streetiebird

Then you’ll love Obama’s plan! He’s already cut well over a trillion in spending! 😀

          • orringtonmom (D)

only $15 trill more to go! whoot whoooooot!

          • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

In what universe do you live. Not a question.

          • Streetiebird

In the real universe where you hear about the cuts Obama has made. Not in the conservative-media universe where he refuses to make any cuts.

Where do you get your news. Not a question.

          • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

Obama has’t offered any cuts to reduce the deficit, that’s the problem. There is no one more ignorant about economics than your king…and the MSM and evidently any person alive, or dead, that voted for him.

          • Streetiebird

So the 1.7 trillion in deficit reductions don’t exist then? LOL great research job JMM

          • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

Are you talking about Obama’s Budget that received 0 votes or his new proposal, that pederast Harry Reid wouldn’t even offer up for a vote, because of the rediculousness of it. And, by the way, neither one of those had any actual spending cuts. Or is there some other nonsensical budget reduction, like a $1.70 per year deficit reduction for one trillion years.

          • Streetiebird

            Awwww :)

          • Streetiebird

Taxing the poor? So, how does that work…their welfare checks and ebt cards get taxed. Here’s the other thing I find humorous. The dems have tried to add a tax to diapers, beer and soda. Tell me, who buys these items more, as a group. As long as you stay ignorant, the dem govt. prospers.

        • Streetiebird

Oh, hey JMM, didn’t recognize you :)

  • Streetiebird

He’s correct. If the middle class’ taxes go up, it will be the Republican’s choice to protect the wealthy at the expense of everyone else. http://www.barackobama.com/news/entry/help-the-president-by-picking-up-the-phone

You’re not even pretending you’re not a shil for him, are you?

      • Streetiebird

Awww cheer up Rob! :) We’re here to help buddy.

  • ZoriahShepard

This man never ceases to frustrate me. He’s so focused on the 2% he’s blind to everything else. Raising taxes on the rich won’t fix the economy. Look at California – Streetiebird, I’m talking to you – before Prop 30 passed and more since then, the wealthy are leaving California in droves. Our revenue dropped again! What part of cutting spending doesn’t Obama understand? Your side loves Clinton so much why doesn’t he just adopt Clinton’s plan of the 90s? Raise taxes, sure – CUT spending. How is cutting spending 5-10yrs from now going to help us? It’s not. It’s not it’s not it’s not!!! Let’s go over this ‘fiscal cliff’. It’ll hurt for a while…but we all know when things start to turn around – the One will take all the credit for pushing us off.

    • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

Oh, the Demonrats hosed over President Bush I with that jive, remember his infamous “No new taxes” broken promise? Well, guess who got him to “compromise” on that, and guess what THEIR part of the compromise was gonna be? Yup, got it in one. The Demonrats promised if he’d just raise a few taxes here and there, they’d be sure to slash down spending. And of course — they didn’t. Just like when they got Reagan to “compromise” on illegal immigrants — Oh, Mr President, just let the ones who are already here stay here, and we’ll be sure to lock the gates as soon as they’re all regularized. Yeah, guess who and guess what. Lying Demonrats, playing Lucy with the football and Charlie Brown.

The American people already believe it is the republican’s fault. Mostly because it is. The whole fiscal cliff thing was created as a way to get them to stop blocking everything and actually solve a problem. I loved The Onion’s take on this. “Meaningless Pledge Outweighs Good of 3 Million People.” It’s better to republicans to keep a meaningless pledge that is 26 years old than to work with democrats to fix the problems our country faces just because they aren’t in charge.

    • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

Do any of you idiots realize that raising taxes on the so-called rich won’t do anything regarding our deficit? And it’s not about a pledge, it’s about causing another recession. Government gets revenues from corporation taxes, small business taxes and employees income taxes. The more successfull these are, the more revenue the gov gets. But, trickle down government never works. And I think even a liberal understands that spending many times more than what you take in, causes what is known as a deficit.

It’s time for the Repubs to quit overestimating the intelligence of the “low-information” voters. They are so marinated in this BS that only speaking very slowly, using easy words and lots and lots of pictures – NOT CHARTS! – has any chance of getting through.

Does Obama offer up Democrat plantation loopholes?
