MSNBC’s Chris Hayes got out his straw man today. There’s barely even any straw in this one, but he tried anyway:

Hayes is conveniently leaving a few things out isn’t he?

Yes he is:

https://twitter.com/bjones/status/473588449665363969

https://twitter.com/chelseagrunwald/status/473602252788490240

In order for Hayes to make his “argument” work he has to pretend not to know the entire story and misrepresent the position of those he disagrees with. Perfect MSNBC “journalist.”

A bit of unfortunate truth for Hayes from Katie Pavlich and others:

Hayes of course didn’t hear only criticism though.

Here’s sampling of those who agreed with Hayes. Put on your waders, plug your nose and walk in slowly:

Consider those last eight tweets auditions for MSNBC hosting gigs.

FOOLISH??? Doing something foolish doesn’t come close to going AWOL, finding comfort with the enemy and stating that you hate America. They should have left him to rot, but obama needed to get the terrorists released ASAP to kill more Americans.

It wasn’t stupid; Obama knew exactly what he was doing; this is a deflection (yet again) from Benghazi, IRS, F&F, and a thoroughly corrupt DOJ. This is part of a classic Cloward/Piven maneuver to overwhealm the media with scandals until you can’t tell one from another, and you can’t tell which one to impeach him on.
Let the Military JAG investigate and prosecute him for desertion; then when Obama interferes; pardons, drops charges etc; Impeach him for Obstruction of Justice in a capital crime, and conspiracy. By then the Senate will be GOP and the impeachment might pass.

Nothing grates on the nerves more than putting one’s own spin on things over what our brave men and women (well, in this case, the platoon was all men) said about this guy. He was a deserter plain and simple and good men lost their lives trying to find him when he didn’t care about their lives. I don’t care who is spouting crap like this – left or right – but when you don’t highlight what our soldiers are saying, you’re – to put it light – a horrible person. I’m so sick and tired of us having to justify ourselves against these stupid, baseless attacks.

    • Mike

      Wrong:

“Charles “Cully” Stimson, a security expert at the conservative
Heritage Foundation think tank, said there are even more examples of
small-scale negotiations with terrorist groups that the public, and many
members of Congress, just don’t know about.

Under President George W. Bush, Stimson helped coordinate the
Pentagon’s detainee operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay,
Cuba, and other places around the world. He said presidential
administrations of both political parties routinely have been forced to
deal with terrorist groups for “information, supplies, personnel — a
      lot of different topics.”

“We have had very quiet negotiations, or discussions at least, with
terrorist groups over the years on a whole host of things,” Stimson
said. “They just haven’t usually come to light.””

  • ConservativeMe

NO, Hayes, it’s about obama continuing to BREAK LAWS of the Constitution and judicial protocol the he took an OATH to obey, uphold and defend at his inauguration, get it? If obama truly cares about America and Americans WHY did he jet off to to vegas AS 4 Americans citizens were being tortured for 7 hours before murdered, he had PLENTY of time to save them but his election was more important, now are we to believe obama traded a muslim wanna be for 5 TOP OFFICIALS that he did because he care?! WAKE UP

  • James Neal

    It is
a sad commentary that one could write about another act of treason
every week and never run out of material illegal acts of this
non=president. This Talaban prisoner release is one of Owebama’s most
egregious criminal acts so far. By definition, one who helps the enemy
make war on his own country has committed an act of TREASON. The
entomology of the word “traitor” literally means “one who delivers”.
What has Owebama done?! He has delivered murderous terrorists of the
Talaban’s choosing — assets of war — to the very enemy that we have
been at war with for ten years. If that doesn’t meet the definition of
treason and traitor, then Judas Iscariot was a Boy Scout. We must take
the Senate back so this criminal can be IMPEACHED.

We lost a commissioned officer, three sergeants (non-commissioned officers) and two PFC’s over a deserter, then gave up 5 significant terrorists and combatants to get his whiny, traitorous, ungrateful carcass back, plus the commander in chief who agreed to this, failed to consult or notify congress as the law demands, and all done as a publicity stunt to distract from the further discovery of the VA debacle, which the MSM is cheerfully distracted from in an effort to find something about their saint that’s not a disaster.

That about cover it? Think you can follow some significant nuances to a story, Mr. Hayes, or do you need a few more amateur bloggers to do it for you? I know it’s hard to think the people might have reason to criticize Dear Leader that don’t involve racism, but please attempt to not shame the profession of journalism any further – it’s taken enough of a beating in regards to it’s credibility.

Obama has committed impeachable offenses. The rest of the world now knows that Dear Leader negotiates with terrorists. Imagine the uproar on the left if George W. Bush had done this. And I’m going to say it…the only reason Obama gets away with it is because no one wants to impeach the first black president. And he knows it.

    • Mike

GW did much worse during the course of his term. I mean he is responsible for nearly 5,000 American deaths as well as skirting if not outright breaking the Geneva convention.

Oh and lets not forget about the more than 13 embassy attacks that took place under his watch, which accounted for more than 60 deaths. .. oddly enough there was never any public outcry or investigations into any of those.

      • Michael

Is the current President also responsible for the deaths in Afghanistan since they have increased since Bush left office? And the “skirting” of the Geneva convention allowed the information to be captured for the Bin Laden raid.

And it’s not embassy attacks or deaths that are the problem. This happens, in particular with embassies in hostile/unstable countries. The problem is that when the embassy in Benghazi was attacked, the administration may have knowingly lied about the cause of the attack to provide political cover for themselves in an election cycle. Can you point to the link where Bush lied about the cause of an embassy attack to protect himself politically?

        • Mike

Of course I can’t since the Democrats didn’t get all foaming at the mouth when it happened on Bush’s watch.

But I can point out that Bush and company did lie about WMD’s to force a war in Iraq. And all the bumbling that occurred while he was in office with that disaster. And still Democrats didn’t go after him with any real vigor even when nearly 5000 Americans have died in that shit hole. Unlike the right trying to politicize the deaths of 4 Americans in Benghazi.

If you think this is about anything other than politics then you are deluded.

          • mike_in_kosovo

But I can point out that Bush and company did lie about WMD’s to force a war in Iraq.

Glad the article included a few posts by libs as it lets the world see how they view things. I’m always amazed by their lack of mental capacity to see reality. I was arguing today with a lib who was angry when I said “five terrorists”. He said, “How do you know they were terrorists?” This from a college grad and history student, who refuses to read newspapers or watch TV. It’s like he just crawled out of a cave, how do you educate them? N’mind, I not wasting my time trying.

Hayes exemplifies indescriminate liberal philosophy; there is no good or evil. In his view the US liberated honorable Taliban for a honorable American.

On a side note – 5 to 1 not being a good trade if all things were equal but that lack of value is attributed to his socialistic leaning.

  • Pilgrim22

Am I to understand the the POTUS was willing to put every American overseas in jeopardy for a Rose Garden photo op with a soldier’s family so the media and America would top talking about the VA.

We negotiated with terrorists without following the laws of the United States of America 2. We focused time, effort and expensive resources to get a deserter 3. The only reason we did the above is because his parents are left wing nut jobs that share a sympathy and support of Islamic extremists with the President.

Apparently to him, a hero deserts his post, denounces the United States, gets brutal terrorists released, endangers the lives of Americans overseas, gets other soldiers killed trying to find him, and has a family who sympathizes with those who wish to destroy the United States.

    • BAW

Yep, I was just reminded of the Hayes comment by Mollie Hemingway, in her article, “The Left Is Terrified Right Now About the Bowe Bergdahl Story.”

Apparently he eventually apologized for saying it so I guess he thinks it’s forgotten.
