Yesterday it was pointed out that more people have applied to live on Mars than have signed up for Obamacare. The launch has been nothing short of a disaster, and the numbers from some states are showing that the administration’s initial sign-up goals will be unattainable:

Four states had fewer than 800 people successfully (and the definition of “successfully” varies) in the first week.

From Wisconsin:

To South Dakota:

To Alaska:

To Vermont:

The Daily Mail reports that those numbers mean that Vermont spent $12,000 to attract each new health insurance customer. Remember, this is all somehow supposed to save money in the long run.

Those numbers, though dismal in many states, at least prove that enrollment isn’t a complete impossibility.

Damn GOP and their horrible website.

    • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (the true one)

MSNBC is already blaming the conservatives.

      • ObamaFail

How pathetic can liberals be? They can never admit when their side screws up. They are so desperate for Obama’s legacy to be cemented as a good one, that every flop is blamed on someone else. Well, only the dumbest liberal sheep are stupid enough to blame anyone but the Dems for this, they passed it without a single Republican vote. So they can own it.

        • bobmead1960

Don’t forget because it will be coming. It was Bush’s fault, the tooth fairy, Republicans cost to keeping the gym open, Republicans not funding 20 times the original cost. Whatever, they will find an excuse for it not working other than themselves. Then it will be the Republicans fault for not working ‘with them’ to fix this monstrosity of a bogus bill, law or TAX! Blame game is always a Dumbocrat trump card, right behind the ‘racism card.’

      • bobmead1960

Is that supposed to be some ‘news flash.’ That’s about as new as the ball point pen. Tell us something new like MSNBC complimented a Conservative. See you when what freezes over!

How long until they start trying to rename Obamacare as Ted CruzCare? or BushCare.

      • ObamaFail

When they do, the point will be driven home that it was passed after Bush left office, and before Ted Cruz was even elected to the Senate. And the point is going to be driven home all next year leading up to the elections that Obamacare was passed on a single party line, and that it was passed without a single Republican vote. People are upset about Obamacare now, but we’re just in the enrollment phase. It’s only a matter of time before we start hearing the first reports of people having trouble seeing a doctor through Obamacare. And that’s when the crapstorm will hit full force.

        • digitalPimple

BTW, some outlets are now reporting that the providers are saying the system is giving the people signing up the wrong figures now (Calculated wrong and too low). So what they thought they got will be higher when they get their firsts month bill.
          Wow.

        • CR

I hope you are right. The establishment GOP needs to do a WAY better job w/ their message, but even if they do, we’ve got the DNMedia to contend with.

If I were a republican in congress, I would not be going ANYWHERE without ten people who had lost their insurance through B0 care and my answer to every question about ANY matter would be about how terrible B0 care has been.

I fear we’ll have the next year and a half with the media and B0 whining about immigration, and that’s all we’ll be hearing about while the B0care debacle quietly unfolds in the background and the media tries to pin problems on a “GOP lack of funding” whenever it gets brought up. Either that, or LIV will see their rates go up or won’t be able to see their doctor and they’ll say “See, it’s because Republicans repealed Obamacare” since 44 percent weren’t sure if B0 care was even still a law (http://washington.cbslocal.com/2013/08/29/poll-44-percent-of-americans-unsure-if-obamacare-is-still-a-law/)

          • digitalPimple

The GOP has been saying messaging messaging for years now. That is why the dead-weight needs to be cut out now. You either do it or get gone. Stop giving these proven losers the benefit of the doubt. It just makes you look stupid. IMHO

          • CR

If you are talking about getting rid of establishment GOP through primaries, I am fully in favor of that. McCain, Graham, et al need to GO. I don’t give any of the RINOs the benefit of any doubt.

But, since we’re stuck w/ what we’ve got for now, the republicans NEED to drive home how terrible B0 care is.

At least we get a choice if we want Apple as well.

They’re distributing signs. For the next OWS love-in.

  • John

MSM will claim individuals that need healthcare don’t have access to the internet to get it

    • FilleGitane

at which time they will be clamouring for an upgrade on Obamaphones that includes internet access.

    • jabney8

So now we should force everyone to buy a computer. You will twice as much as its worth so your neighbor won’t have to pay anything. Don’t give them ideas.

    • tops116 ✓Quipper

Remember how liberals bellyache that voter ID laws are unfair because “people don’t have access to get an ID” or some bulls***? So, I certainly hope that Team Obama and their media underlings try the strategy you suggested; it’ll blow back on them.

    • TroyGates

      Coming soon, ObamaPads….

  • beachbored

Why did I know that if Obamacare failed it would be blamed on GOP? All along there have been hints that if young ppl won’t sign up it would be the Koch brothers & their super pacs ran ads discouraging young ppl, or the teapartys 41 attempts to defund…blahblahblah. I have seen the MSNBCs mind set since the stupid law was passed.

    • jabney8

People just don’t sign up to spend money they don’t have on a product they don’t want. Anyone that needs someone else to them that is a bad idea is somewhat limited on resources already.

  • Stephen L. Hall #NonquamTrump

The prisons are going to be full of people who didn’t sign up. Do they have enough room to put 46,000,000 people in jail? After all, they keep telling us they don’t have the resources to deport 11,000,000.

    • ObamaFail

See, deporting illegals doesn’t jive with Democrats because that is punishing potential Dem voters for breaking the law. But American citizens? If they don’t have the resources to jail everyone who doesn’t comply, they’ll make sure they borrow the money to get the resources. Hopefully half of the people jailed are Democrat supporters, then they can see the true consequences of voting for someone just because of their skin color.

      • HeavyMetalPolkaMonkey

Yeah, but the next move for the democrats is to turn those “illegals” into “democratic voters”….A friend in need is a potential voter, donor or land deal partner.

      • TroyGates

Wait until all the illegals that get amnesty can’t pay for Obamacare, Obama will extend to them free insurance and make the rest of us pay even more to balance it out.

    • HeavyMetalPolkaMonkey

I asked a question like that early on. “So what happens if enough people tell’em to hug root and not sign up, then refuse to pay fines? Does anyone think the government honestly has the resources to go after that many citizens at one time? Can the MS successfully hide the negative PR from such a move?”. My sister, an Obama fan (even has what she calls an “Obama Wall” in her house…seriously creeped the hell out’a me, but then she’s been to govt well before when she defaulted on her home loan.) just began reciting the ACA bill over and over. When I questioned the logic of fining the millions who lost their job/work hours due to CorkyCare, she launched into reciting the ACA over and over. It was my last conversation with her.

And I’m going to guess a minimum of the 799 out of the 800 had pre-existing conditions that made it hugely expensive for them to get health insurance elsewhere.
