Starbucks’ “The Way I See It #65” continues to be very inspiring. Unless of course the “Way I See It #66” cup is “You Didn’t Built That.”

For at least one tweeter, encouraging entrepreneurship is an unattractive “conservative” thing to do:

The entrepreneurial spirit isn’t conservative, it’s American. Well, for many it still is anyway.

I bet a lot more people are more disappointed in her than they are of Bruce Campbell.

      • SineWaveII

Yeah the “evidence” thing. Not seeing it. More like ideology based decision-maker.

        • Finrod Felagund

Yeah, everyone I’ve seen that’s used the term ‘evidence-based’ wouldn’t know what evidence and facts were if they danced a jig on their nose.

One of my favorite shows at that time “Tales of the Gold Monkey” one of my favorite current shows “Burn Notice”. I knew there was another reason I liked Mr. Campbell.

    • SineWaveII

Not quite so current. Alas this was its last season.

      • drw

We don’t do cable since my oldest was 5. Netflix hasn’t got the last season yet so it’s still current to me.

        • SineWaveII

Same here. We dumped cable almost a decade ago. I’m going to wait and get the last season on DVD, so it’s still current for me too.

        • AMSilver

I’m watching it on Netflix, too. Just started a couple weeks ago, so I’ve still got several seasons ahead of me. I admit that I got nervous, seeing Campbell’s name on a Twitchy headline. Happily, this only improves my opinion of him.

  • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

“I’m disappointed to learn u r so conservative.”

Which is obviously an unpardonable offense.
Listen, I could sit and watch The Perfect Storm and enjoy it, because, duh, George Clooney is playing a character– it’s called “acting.” As long as the film isn’t one long preachy screed against every perceived injustice Clooney sees in the world, I’m not holding his dumbass beliefs against him.
Welcome to our world, @ladykayaker. Lots of people WE like, whose politics we don’t agree with, but hey, if it doesn’t show up in their work, why not watch?
(Mind you, I won’t pay a dime to see their pictures, but if it’s on the idiot box, well, that’s different…)

    • rssllue

It is so terrible to assume that someone can handle their business better than the government. Lisa is so on the ball with the terrible conservative viewpoint being a problem…IF you live in the bizarro world that the progressives have created for themselves and is seeping into our reality through their best attempts. Progs are very scary. That’s why they cover all their mirrors to not have to look themselves in the face and see the truth of who they are.

  • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

So I guess initiative, self-reliance, and ambition are conservative now. Hardly a bad thing in my book.

And I’d be more than happy to welcome Bruce Campbell to our side, if he does indeed lean right.

Finally, mildly unrelated, but Starbucks totally need to include another of his quotes on their cups: “Choose the one drink you wouldn’t give your worst enemy…and gimme a double.”

    • SineWaveII

You gotta love the thinking of leftists like her who have a problem with things like the quote on that cup. How in the world does she think they are ever going to pay for their utopia?

      • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

By eating the rich, of course. Because obviously, if you have even a single dollar more than anyone else, you’re a greedy scumbag who exploits the innocent workers and cheated to get where you are and therefore deserve to have it taken away in the name of social justice.

        • SineWaveII

Very true. But what intrigues (and infuriates) me about our furry little leftist friends is how they can switch their “outrage” on and off. Example: Bill Clinton is worth over $300 million, and Hillary is worth over $125 million. Even Obama is worth over $75 million.
All of the richest of the richie-rich from Bill Gates and Warren Buffet on down are all solidly on the side of the democrats. Yet all we heard last year about Mitt Romney was how rich he is (at $275 million, $25 million LESS than Bill Clinton). Yet when John Kerry ran for president in 2004 (worth $280 million by himself + the 1 billion worth of his wife) we didn’t hear a single word about it. They are the world’s biggest hypocrites on this subject. Just as they are hypocritical about paying taxes. The truth is all of the democrat and leftist liberal leaders are all filthy rich. And they are all in the top 1%.

What about #67, “We don’t particularly like that Second Amendment”?

  • MarcusFenix

I do love that one idiot was “disappointed to learn u r so conservative”..because telling people to work hard and take advantage of opportunities is a total buzzkill. It’s too bad her dislike for conservative ideas didn’t come with instructions on how to properly spell three letter words like “you” and “are”.

    • saintnobody

Her twitter account shows she later defended the statement by saying it didn’t consider “luck,” as a factor. I beg to differ. Persistence exploits luck better than anything. And Bruce didn’t offer anyone great success or millions, merely a job they could keep.

      • MarcusFenix

I consider luck as the “X” factor. Even in my best laid plans and ambitions, there had to be room for the unknown and just the plain goodness that comes alongside some timely serendipity.

Your assessment is correct though…I crawled through her feeds and found that her belief structure to be….lacking….in belief of anything outside of her own self. To me, that’s a person who isn’t worth much.

  • dwsmokin

Wow-guess Lisa didn’t realize that virtually all actors are independent contractors.

  • dwsmokin

Bruce was in town a few years back to plug his book at a local book outlet. He was there to sign books and autographs for two hours starting at 6. At 11 he was still there, signing, talking, and completely at ease with everyone. He doesn’t pal around with the bosses, he takes care of the grips, or the gophers-the regular guys on his shoots. He’s a good guy with a good head on his shoulders. I literally cannot fathom why that disappoints some people.

    • gary4205

How awesome. I hadn’t really paid a lot of attention to Campbell until “Burn Notice” but man, he is really a good guy. Has no problem making fun of himself in the movies either. “My Name Is Bruce” is a hilarious send up of all of the rather bad horror movies he made. Then there is “The Fall of Sam Axe” A masterpiece!

Seems like an incomplete sentence – should read thusly:

…”I’m disappointed to learn you are so conservative, that you obviously have a great reservoir of personal initiative and drive to be successful and not be a burden to society by living off welfare and sucking the government teat. What I’m trying to say is I’m really sorry to discover that you’re not a blood-sucking welfare zombie like one of us…”

Reminds me of a comment my expatriate lib nephew wrote on a Thomas Sowell article I posted on Facebook years ago. He didn’t like Sowell, he said, because he was too “bootstrappy”. Bootstrappy? I asked. Yeah, you know, advocating that people pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.
I unfriended him. Blood may be thicker than water but it is not thicker than patriotism, something he will never understand.

to a liberal/progressive/freeloader/leech/paraite/lowIQ/obamavoter, “conservative” means what an absolute MORON tweeted about #EBT today: a black girl tweeted: “Republicans are the reason why we can’t have nice things”.
