Ronald Reagan wore tan suits, so why was it a scandal when Barack Obama did it?

It doesn't happen so much anymore, but whenever Barack Obama pops up in the news, some clown has to tweet that his was a "scandal-free" presidency and that the biggest scandal in his eight years in office was wearing a tan suit one day. Of course, conservatives can rattle off a bunch of scandals, from Fast and Furious to IRS targeting of conservative groups (which liberals still deny happened, even though the IRS admitted it).

I refuse to believe that conservatives ever made Obama's tan suit a "scandal," but that's what they claim. As far as I remember it, no one cared. Maybe one high-profile conservative tweeted about it and that covered all conservatives.

Here's someone in 2023 wondering why Obama's tan suit was a scandal. James Surowiecki is a contributing writer for The Atlantic and Fast Company:

Bingo.

The liberals in the replies who actually buy this hypothesis are certain that it wasn't the color of the suit, but the color of Obama's skin.

But if this journalist actually knows any conservatives, he could ask them to name the first scandal that comes to mind when he mentions the Obama administration. Absolutely no one is going to mention the suit.
