Did the Russians hack into the Clinton Foundation servers too?

Before anyone makes a big deal of a report that Russians hacked into the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, remember that the president himself sat next to Hillary Clinton in April and explained that “there’s classified, and then there’s classified,” there’s “stuff that is really top secret top secret,” and then there’s stuff that’s just out there, like, open source.

Bloomberg reported Tuesday that the Clinton Foundation’s information recently went open source, and the Russians are the culprits.

Bloomberg reports:

The attacks on the foundation’s network, as well as those of the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, compound concerns about her digital security even as the FBI continues to investigate her use of a personal e-mail server while she was secretary of state.

A spokesman for the foundation, Brian Cookstra, said he wasn’t aware of any breach. The compromise of the foundation’s computers was first identified by government investigators as recently as last week, the people familiar with the matter said.

It was just a week ago that the Washington Post reported that Russian hackers had not only breached the DNC’s servers, but did so so thoroughly that they were able to read all email and chat traffic and steal opposition research on Donald Trump.

The Foundation says it wasn’t aware that it had been hacked. Government investigators discovered the intrusion just last week.

Was Hillary Clinton’s unsecured, home-brew email server that operated outside of the official U.S. government network hacked by the Russians too? The FBI began scouring the server last fall for evidence of cyber-espionage by foreign governments.

At this point, it would be surprising if it hadn’t been hacked. Time for another Russian reset?
