So much of what we have been told about Friday’s horrible shooting in Newtown, Conn., has turned out to be incorrect upon further investigation. One early theory, which arose from reports of a police interview with Adam Lanza’s brother, Ryan, was that Adam had a “personality disorder” and was “somewhat autistic.” Accounts from those who knew Lanza in passing suggest that the alleged shooter was “a little off,” but in a rush to explain the horrible events at Sandy Hook Elementary, many are linking the shooting to autism — a troubling development to many.

Some are worried that reports on the shooting are using autism and mental illness interchangeably, where autism is a neurological condition.

Medications might be a factor, but that too is only a theory. Some in the medical field have a less-scientific but perhaps more plausible explanation for Lanza’s alleged acts.

Is anyone else getting the creepy sensation that the liberal left media is getting more and more desperate to find a scapegoat, any scapegoat to blame for this catastrophe?

First reports of the aftermath were shaky to say the least.
Second and third attempts haven’t been a lot better. Or ended in contradiction to the preferred template.

The longer this runs on. It seems like the media is trying to circumvent the legal system altogether and try the shooter in absentia, Along with gun laws and NRA. Which have nothing to do with this tragedy.

    • Skigirl1689

Yes, they are willing to blame the guns, his illness, *anything* besides this person chose to do this act of complete evil.

    • debra steinman

Absolutely. But remember we’re talking about the same party that put forth a piece of crap legislation S819/hr2413 (110thCongress) in a bid to try to get those with Aspergers and Autism to sign a registry, replete with ‘monitoring services’.

I do not find it surprising at all, that they are repeating the Aspergers/mental disorder bit. Libs don’t try to ‘understand’ anything. They only try to ‘destroy’ it.

As I’ve mentioned here before, I’m a pro-Second Amendment Aspie. It’ll be a cold day in Hades before I submit to ANY government ordered autism ‘registry’.

I’m so sick and tired of the media’s need to be first! first! first! even if they are wrong, wrong, wrong. They’re as bad as the tabloids.

    • BayushiZero

They’re not as bad as the tabloids. Tabloids often have truth in their reporting. The Media? Not so much.

Those tweets annoyed me. Autism AND mental illness do not cause evil. It’s stupid to defend autism from labeling, and then label the mentally ill. He may have been both, but it takes more than that to do something so horrible.

Maybe there’s something to Dr. James’ last tweet. Demons made him do it.

American Socialists are just following in the footsteps of the Nazi Socialists.

Nazis were NSDAP. NSDAP = National Socialist German Workers Party
    (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei)

The Nazis used the same tactics. Register and classify all those deemed ‘mentally deficient”. Given enough time they will get around to ‘classifying’ and locating everybody. First things first though, they’ll have to grab the guns first, and then dismantle the 1st Amendment. The snappy uniforms can’t be far off.

    We’ve been warned.

The reason celebrity-media is flailing is that they are shallow. If one doesn’t believe in a higher order in the universe, there is no such thing as free will, the dignity of human life, or moral obligation. You can’t talk about these things in an explanatory way. They don’t exist to you.

When all you acknowledge is material stuff, your theories will invariably attribute everything to inanimate objects such as “the gun” or a “disease” in the “brain.”

We’ve been very patient with materialists for the last 100 years or so. But I think we can all agree that so far their “explanations” for acts like this, and their “expert recommendations” on how to alleviate human suffering once and for all are laughable at best because they are based on a delusional view of human nature.

Both of my children have high functioning autism/borderline Aspergers. They are the sweetest, most caring and love able children anyone could ask for…in the world of autism we are truly blessed!!

If the media and attention whores like Jenny McCarthy try to link this insane mass murderer of babies to autism I will demand to see his medical records and onset if diagnosis along with his full treatment plan history!! I have no doubt the killer was schizophrenic, manic depressive, and probably had MR!! But those Dax’s are NOT autism/Aspergers!! Even a co- morbid Dx with autism/Aspergers would cause a person to become deranged to the point of PLANNING such an execution of innocent people!!

The whole idea makes me ill
